Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
My stupid sense of humour is at it again. Perhaps this should be called Air Fingus. Not a very pc name and not sure our emerald green friends would be too happy either. But then am I allowed freedom of speech or not? Joking apart there are 3 or 4 very good and very sensible names being considered. The downside is it has basically been a non existent week with progress. Need to pick up some momentum again soon

Hi all. You will have probably noticed I have been very quiet by my standards over the last month with lots going on at work and at a home. A little holiday is imminent and then really do hope to try and get a bit of momentum back into this as things have well and truly stalled recently. I am sat at the cemetry at the end of 14 waiting to go pick up Mrs R and sat here thinking "if only"

I guess one of the problems you've got is you might have to take on one of the current LBA operators on tried and tested routes such as Southampton and Glasgow to enable funds to be freed up for more neche destinations such as Norwich, Cardiff and Bristol that would otherwise be lass favourable as initial routes.

Lucky it's not 30/30 or it would have been a dead heat.

Now these tennis related puns are starting to get "deuces". "Let" me get back to the task in hand. Think that's game, set and match to me on this one. Must definitely be in holiday mode and looking forward to passing through the modified LBA in the next few days and that might just give me some more "point" ers towards what this thread is all about even though this light hearted ness is a welcome relief from recent pressures.

Indeed they are. They are generating a lot of noise, in fact quite a "RACKET". Now need to decide if I offer the travel trade some special "NET" fares. Apologies to anyone who doesn't understand the second of those puns so for those of you that don't it's terminology for discounted fares

Everything sound really promising "Finger66" So I guess now that your thinking about the fares your going to charge, you must have your start up routes firmly decided, preferred aircraft type chosen and worked out all the basic costs that are going to be involved in setting up an airline.
It sounds like you not far off from "Game, Set & Match" If so that I'll mean you well on your way to winning the biggest prize of them all "The Grand Slam"

Who. Me or John Mc lol? Your puns have put a real smilebon my face thank you. Really needed that after a very tough month. Looking forward to the "break" next week before getting back to it. I am now thinking about op A380s as they are probably the best "doubles" in the world. Lets not get on to lager puns now. If I had a million quid for every pun the airline would be well on its way so please "beer" that in mind

Anyway, enough about tennis. Here’s a suggestion for an airline name for any potential new venture… Yorkshire Airlines!!

You could have 2 classes of travel. Working Class would get fish, chips, mushy peas and John Smiths Bitter as standard in-flight fodder. If you upgrade to Alan Bennett Class, you get seasonal Yorkshire Caviar (eg, festive cheesy peas with added brandy butter) and Theakstons Old Peculiar.

Pie and peas, mucky fat butties, Yorkshire puddings and Chicken Tikka Massala would also be on the menu. There would be kids meal boxes available, including mini Wensleydale cheeses, mini pork and pickle pies and bags of Haribo Yorkshire Mix.

Live in-flight entertainment would be provided by some old bloke with half his teeth knocked out playing on an organ, and the IFE would also include box sets of Last of the Summer Wine, Open All Hours, All Creatures Great and Small, Heartbeat, The Royal and Last Tango in Halifax.

There would be a sports channel showcasing great Yorkshire cycling events, Super League, the Brownlees in triathlon action, Nicola Adams and Josh Warrington knocking seven bells out of opponents in the ring, Championship Football (Premiership from August thanks to the Terriers) and horse racing highlights from Doncaster, York, Wetherby, Catterick, Beverley, Ripon and Pontefract.

The music channel would have a selection of albums by such likes as the Kaiser Chiefs, Human League, Soft Cell and Arctic Monkeys along with an easy listening channel, including playlists by the Black Dyke Mills, Hade Edge and Grimethorpe UK Coal Bands.

Naturally, there will be a few flyers of bingo on longer flights, and there will be live spotting webcam feeds to Doncaster Station and LBA.

Yorkshire Life magazines would also be provided in the seat backs.

And Captain Boycott could give regular cricket score updates.

Anyway, sadly, I doubt you could get any of this on a 19 seater…apart from the magazine, a few growlers and a crate of tinnies!!

(P.S – only a bit of Friday fun!!)

Friday fun?............I thought you were being serious. This is a real gap in the market.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
