Given how many stars we've lost during 2016 I thought we might as well have an official tribute thread to celebrate those who have sadly departed us.

Wake me up before you go-go.

George Michael - (25 June 1963 – 25 December 2016)

Jerome Silberman (June 11, 1933 – August 29, 2016) aka Gene Wilder

Good riddance to 2016 and for obvious reasons I want this to be the quietest thread on the site!

Just so sad yet the BBC put this out http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38329740 where it's says it's nothing out of the ordinary. Think it's because people are now more aware - some people whose death would have previously been known only to those followers of that person will now be featuring on various news sites so get mass reported.

Isn't it weird they have pre-prepared obituaries? Do stars or celebs ask to see their own TV obituary before the event to make sure they approve?

Was a bit spooked out by that story. I guess we know it you are a "proper" celebrity or not if the BBC has something on you! That being said, I do think they went slightly over the top with George Michael's death, with most News programmes leaving on a montage of videos and images then playing his songs on the "coming up" and "end titles" of Match of the Day last night.

I'm a huge fan of Star Trek so it came as a shock when I heard Anton had passed away. He played his character so well.

Into the Darkness I think was the last film he was in. At the end of the film there was a special tribute to him.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
