Regretably it has been announced that Loganair are to close their Southampton base, which will effect both our Exeter and Southampton routes with effect from 18th August.

Such a shame and a great loss to Manchester.

As I posted in the LBA route thread I hope this makes your former esteemed mayor, now our esteemed PM, realise that something needs to happen with UK APD, especially for domestic flights

Agreed to some extent but this is a wider problem than just the LM routes ex MAN. The smaller niche regional airlines need to be able to top up with leisure pax and actually £13 will matter to those leisure pax and routes are dying, yes for a variety of reasons, but in the main because the Business traffic has declined due to remote working and leisure traffic due to APD

I travelled to Exeter recently for business reasons. I have flown in the past { Flybe}. Loganair didn't offer very much choice to Exeter schedule wise, so I took the train, but that's not without its problems. Cross Country Trains is all ways a bit of a bun very busy, not enough seats or luggage space, but it is frequent. The short hop flight is attractive, but you must build in travel to airport time maybe an hour for me to got to Manchester in the morning, check in and security, id want at least 90 mins, and of course the fare, Loganair are not always that cheap. The train won in the end.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
