Thanks for that Ray - I simply don't have the patience to sit through schedules and timetables! :)

Rome going daily stands out - have they gotten wind of someone else muscling in I wonder?

I had about half an hour of peace until Mrs Finkle arrived home with her two noisy children. Fairy 'nuff they're mine too but you get the point ;)

There are one or two increases but it's still early days so I'd expect further changes, especially with more routes to be added. It's been said that flights to Sharm will resume this winter but I guess that's subject to change and we don't know how recent events will impact on Turkey, if at all.

I'm surprised to see Madrid back, with all the competition on the route I honestly thought it would be a one season wonder. Good to see it's done well enough to return.

The school half term prices are not exactly tempting.

Two adults and two children Birmingham to Tenerife, flight only, for a week.

Sat 27th May with Monarch £1654.

Fri 26th May with Norwegian £983.40.

October half term is even worse with flight only on the 21st a whopping £2774.

Some updates to S17.

Fuerteventura is now bookable at 2x weekly.

Gran Canaria and Lanzarote both have extra flights added for Easter as does Lisbon which goes 5x weekly for three weeks (extra Sat flight added).

Sharm is bookable at 2x weekly but only from Feb until April.

The bad news is that Nice has been taken off sale past October '16.

Maybe Nice has seen a sharp fall in bookings since the horrible act of terrorism that took place last month ?? If that is the case, maybe a future route for Jet 2 ??

We have a crumb of hope in that there are still flights to be loaded for S17 but the terrorist attack may indeed have killed this route :(

well we just have to hoe that's not the case. The impacts of terrorism are often very temporary, hopefully it will be added again!

Did Flybe used to operate to Nice or did I just dream it?

Still early days yet and I'm sure that they're looking at the situation closely. If it doesn't return then there may well be an opportunity elsewhere?

To my knowledge, i think it was BA in the 90s

Going by a conversation on the dried plum, Monarch seem to have a history of releasing one or two destinations at the eleventh hour. Larnaca was so late being released for W16/17 that it looked a "dead cert" for the axe, but it was eventually released.

Now, this may just be an amendment to the timetable which could be related to the current non-appearance of NCE for S17, but the three based 738s which were due for 2017 are no longer showing in the schedule.

Were the 738s intended to replace A320s or A321s? If the latter, then this could be Jet2 related as I don't think Monarch would want to move a considerable percentage of routes to smaller aircraft just as competition came on the scene.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
