Ryanair have today announced they will cut their 3 weekly Shannon-Liverpool link, and instead run a daily Shannon-Manchester link. Change happens from October 26th.

Am I right in saying that both Ryanair and easyJet have been moving routes from LPL to MAN?

Am I right in saying that both Ryanair and easyJet have been moving routes from LPL to MAN?

They have indeed TLY.

Ryanair have moved Bremen, Shannon, Riga, Zadar, Rome, Valencia and Oslo from Liverpool to Manchester.
As well as this, they have opened Malaga, Alicante, Palma, Ibiza, Fuerteventura, Las Palmas, Lanzarote and Warsaw alongside their LPL routes.

Easyjet have moved Malta and Lyon from LPL to MAN, but, they have also moved Innsbruck from MAN to LPL, back in the early days of the GB takeover. They also ended their MAN-MAD route to apparently protect their LPL-MAD route.
There is also an overlap of routes, mainly sun ones, from easyjet too.

There may be routes that I have missed, but, it does seem that MAN is certainly seeing some growth at the expense of LPL.

it would seem Ryanair have fallen out with Paphos airport as they have cancelled everything after 17th January from Manchester.

Probably low bookings, so they have a "spat" over something else to hide the real reason for cancellation.

Apparently will be 10 based Ryanair next summer, an increase of 3!

New 2 weekly Chania from 28th March, on Tue and Sat.

Shannon increased to 10 weekly, extra flights on Mon, Wed and Fri.

There will also be a 3 weekly Cologne on Tue, Thu, Sat.

Ryanair will start Stuttgart from April 4th daily ex-Sat.

Stuttgart will be a new airport for Ryanair, and Manchester its only route. STR is also unnerved from MAN moment.

They have increased a few routes:

Lisbon increases from 4 to 5 weekly for the full summer

For August:

Faro goes to 3 daily on Mondays
Alicante increases from 10 to 12 weekly
Milan increases from 7 to 9 weekly
Madrid increases from 5 to 6 weekly
Corfu goes from 3 to 4 weekly
Beziers goes from 2 to 3 weekly

Ryanairs 8th based aircraft arrives on Thursday. Many routes see an increase in some form, so, T3 is about to get busier.

Ryanair look to be increasing their winter offering of 3 weekly to Barcelona to a daily service according to their online timetable.

Ryanair will increase MAN-BCn to a full 2 daily schedule from March 25th.

MAN-ALC also goes full 2 daily, and MAN-IBZ goes full daily.

Funny how Vueling just increased MAN-BCN for S16, and rumoured to be launching MAN-ALC/IBZ and these are the only 3 routes to see increases so far.......

Well, Norwegian and Vueling are coexisting quite nicely on BHX-BCN, so I don't think Manchester should have any problems despite Ryanair's history of forcing other airlines off routes.

New routes to Malta, 3 weekly and Brindisi, 2 weekly.

These are the first scheduled flights from Manchester to that area of Italy.

That's 3 more new routes for Manchester next summer, with promises of 'more to come'.

2 more new routes from Ryanair.

4 weekly Limoges and 3 weekly Carcassone.

That's 5 new routes in total, with Brindisi, Malta and Bratislava added earlier in the month.

New daily route to Nurenburg from 1st Nov.

Think this is a brand new route for MAN as can't recall it ever being served on a scheduled basis.

Nice to have a brand new route and daily at that.

Are there any other Ryanair changes for next winter that you are aware of?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
