Wasn't there a reference to a formal announcement to be made by Ryanair of their winter program from MAN. Seats/percentage growth/number of routes etc. I'm not aware that has happened yet, so if there is to be one perhaps Seville will be released then.

Thankfully LH do well out of connecting travellers! Unbelievable amount of German expansion at 'legacy' airline frequencies.

Ryanair Winter Schedules are out.

Seville - twice weekly, begins October 30th (Monday early morning departure, Friday afternoon departure)
Frankfurt - six weekly, begins October 29th (except Saturdays)
Cologne - daily, begins October 29th

Shannon increases from four to five weekly.

I have been taking a look at Ryanair schedules for a mid-season winter week for 2018 v 2017. Based upon flights loaded so far, the number of weekly departures actually DROPS from 208 to 199.

Main points noted: Four routes which are listed in Winter 2016 appear to have been axed. These are Tenerife (-7); Beauvais (-3), Murcia (-3), Valencia (-2). I need to check further, but only BVA appears to be available for Summer season '17 as well?

Routes showing reductions are: Barcelona 8 (-1); Dublin 37 (-2); Palma 2 (-1); Riga 2 (-1); Stuttgart 4 (-2).

New routes on sale are: Koln-Bonn 7 (+7); Frankfurt 6 (+6).

Seville, which has been mentioned as a twice weekly new route does not appear in the booking engine at this point so is not included in the total. Hopefully this may follow. The Dublin route shows 'sold out' on all February 2018 dates which suggests that the schedule may not be finalised yet.

No existing route is showing a frequency increase over February 2017. With reference to Ethan's note about SNN, the week I used shows 5 departures per week in both years, though the fifth weekly flight appeared wef 15.02.2017.

There may yet be more to come but this is a slightly concerning picture so far. A drop of 9 departures per week is not what we want to be seeing at all.

I've just checked the Ryanair web site for Valencia and flights appear to be operating 3 x wkly over the summer (Sat/Mon/Fri) and 2 x wkly over the winter (Mon/Fri).

Perhaps just a glitch if they were updating their schedules.

But you raise a good point EGCC_MAN: it's so easy to recognise and appreciate the new routes and overlook what may have been dropped or reduced in frequency.
One thing you can be sure of - Ryanair aren't going to highlight reductions!

Good news ... lets hope that is true of all four absent routes (and Seville). I actually want to book VLC as well!

I'll check again in afew days time. It would be nice to think they're still loading stuff?

Seville appears bookable Mon & Fri for Nov. and Dec. at least.

And ... breathe! The three Spanish routes (TFS, MJV, VLC) do appear unchanged if you type the destination in long-hand. They're missing from the dropdown list of countries, however. Seville likewise. Looks like an issue with the "Pick a country" list associated with MAN bookings. That's a relief!!!

Beauvais still absent ... that is probably a genuine casualty.

These four Spanish routes (including Seville) account for 14 departures per week. So revised number is 213 departures per week versus 208 ... a small increase of 5 departures per week (but I'll take it!).

Hopefully the "Pick a country" list will be updated to fully reflect the routes on sale soon.

It has been mentioned that the Ukrainian market is an option for future service and, given the recent expansion with MAG, will a Manchester-Kiev/Lviv route appear? I certainly hope so - this would begin to address the Eastern Europe issue and give MAN a niche route outside of London.

Very good news about Kiev. When I looked, I couldn't see any dates highlighted for BVA in Nov. or Dec. as bookable. Personally, I regard any route cancelled, even seasonally, as a loss. If a new route stats at 3 x weekly and another dropped with the same frequency, in terms of seats offered there is no growth. Presumably, a route is dropped because it's not earning the yield expected and it's hoped that the new route will perform better.

Of course, Ryanair are offering 3 other new services this winter plus Naples continuing, and some frequency increases, but it appears there are frequency reductions on Stuttgart and Dublin for example so we should always look at the net position. Ryanair's press release states 4.5m passengers (which I assume is an annual figure), up 300,000. That would represent an increase of 7% from 4.2m.

Superb news about Kiev! It also uses the main airport (Borispoil) instead of the secondary that was previously rumoured. Glad to see I did some matchmaking above!

Lviv is also to have seven RYR routes so whether MAN is included I don't know and LAX_LHR has wrote on prune that a Poznan route may be announced tomorrow.

Other highlights not previously noted include Naples continuing into the winter season, Budapest up to 5wkly and Eindhoven up to 6 wkly.
