Are we certain those fares are in Pounds Sterling? When I went on their website to price up LBA to Lisbon via BCN (for my boss at work) the fares quoted were in Euros and were around 175 Euros each way. Unfortunately it meant sitting in BCN airport for most of the day, so not a practical solution.

Worth checking code share partners. For example sky scanner has LBA-BCN-LBA, out 8/4/16,rtn 11/4/16 for £156 rtn with Vueling but £93 for same flights with Iberia!

Just to clarify. Yes White Heather the fares on the Vueling website are quoted in Euros but, to compare like with like I used the paying in £ rather than Euros conversion figure they provided. And yes I am aware that it would be slightly cheaper if I paid by Debit Card and the Visa daily rate was used for the conversion. Not megabucks of a difference though. Today they are quoting approx £170 for a single fare whereas the Monarch fare for my date is showing as £138 with bags.

Gray Ham we only want a single fares as we will return to the UK by train and the cheapest single fare (including bags) is the Monarch one I've quoted above.

The point I was making in my original post was that Vueling, as a new entrant at LBA, ought to be competing, initially at least, with existing carriers to attract business, which they are not doing for some reason. Even BA via LHR are much cheaper (£124) than Vueling. My wife won't touch LHR with a bargepole however after the last time we flew through there was a disaster in terms of queues and lost baggage (BA again I'm afraid).

Forgot to mention that the Euro price quoted with bags was 229.99€ each and looking at Skytrax Vueling don't have much of a reputation anyway!

Vueling 2x weekly MON-FRI service between Leeds-Bradford and Barcelona are now on sale up until end of October 2016. Originally when they announced the route flights were on sale up until September.

I wonder if they will go year round on this route?

Sadly it's looking like Vueling's New Leeds/Bradford to Barcelona route is a summer only (March-October) service only. As it would seem almost all other Vueling winter 2016/17 flights are now on sale.

Well Vueling's new Barcelona - Leeds/Bradford service starts this week. Dose anyone know how they are doing loads with advance bookings. I see basic lead in fares are now as low as €39.99 one-way compared to €100 one-way fares when they initially went on sale last year.
Its going to be a battle up aginst Jet2 and Monarch but I'm sure if Vueling do well this summer they might look into starting new routes next year along with IAG maybe adding Iberia Express..

It will be interesting to see if the Vueling logo is instantly updated to the website departure boards. My experience is that it always seems to take a few weeks with the temporary generic LBA logo used at first which is unprofessional.

I heard from a mate (who's intel can sometimes be mixed) saying that bookings had been mixed! He mentioned that in terms of bookings there seems to be a lot more inbound to LBA, as in Spanish pax as oppose to the other way round which you cannot complain about - Tourism into Leeds and further out is always a bonus. Then again I haven't seen any Vueling marketing around otherwise than on the actual LBA website and site of the airport..?

Has anyone else seen any advertising about in Leeds or further out? Newspapers etc?

My initial thought is that people from this area will no doubt just think of Jet2 and if they're too expensive look at Ryanair and then thirdly look elsewhere (MAN.. etc) as oppose to looking at new carriers..! Then again more and more people are using price comparison websites and scouting around and then Vuelings name will crop up!

Lets hope the team up there are onto that ;)

You'll be pleased to know that the Vueling logo has this morning appeared on the Airport live arrivals and departure boards for Friday mornings first flight.

I've seen advertising for the new Vueling service on the Business Desk daily emails I receive a few times, The was loads in the airports arrivals hall when I came back from Lanzarote in January and just last week on the Travel Trade Gazzet website.

Also got to admit the airport arrival and departure boards are starting to look a bit healthier from tomorrow what with the extra Ryanair, Monarch and Jet2 services restarting for the summer.

The flight for tomorrow morning is not showing on the LBA arrivals board. Has it been cancelled?

The Vueling Barcelona service is definitely operating tomorrow, but it's gone unnoticed that the Monday flight has a rescheduled evening slot. ETA 20:05 - ETD 20:55

I've just checked the Veuling website and seen that they have changed the times to a late evening and is the same for the next few Mondays. The Friday flight is still early morning.
I don't think I will be using it to arrive after Midnight and leave at 6am (Mon - Fri)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
