Inspired by the Christmas Victoria Quarter advertisement I have decided to open a new thread to inspire people from across the UK and foreign visitors to visit our region using our local airport.

Post anything relevant to the topic within this thread...visiting Yorkshire.

This very clever advertisement is inspired by the famous Leeds clock makers Potts of Leeds and forms the basis for the Victoria Quarter advert which is located on Briggate in Leeds City Centre.

Here's another video showing Leeds' Victoria Quarter in all it's glory.

Don't forget our Yorkshire lands administered by Cumbria, Durham and that other place at the other side of the Pennines.
Contrary to what the ill informed politicians and the media say,who don't know the difference between administrative areas and geographical counties, these lands belong to Yorkshire.

If you want a good day out, get yourself up the Worth Valley. Great fun messing around on the trains, real ales galore on the train, some good boozers up in Haworth Town and not to mention all the Bronte stuff.

Any visit to Yorkshire must include some time in York itself. An ancient city with roots going back to the Romans and a connection also with the first Christian Roman Emperor. A place which has been, at times, the capital of the nation ( and still reckons the body of King Richard should be buried in its magnificent Cathedral)

My wife and I spent a few days in Yorkshire in September with an escorted rail tour that also included parts of Cumbria and Northumberland.

We stayed at Harrogate and our tour included a day in York and a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby and back (stupendous scenery along that line!). We changed changed trains in Leeds on a couple of occasions and I would have liked more time to explore this city which looks very impressive.

We left Yorkshire for Cumbria via the magnificent Settle and Carlisle line.

I haven't spent a lot of time in the Yorkshire area in my lifetime. I visited York once before in the 1970s and a few years ago did a day trip on the train, Bristol-Leeds-Manchester-Bristol, with a pal who is keen on railway architecture. At least then we ventured into Leeds but only as far as the nearest Wetherspoons for a quick lunch before travelling on to Manchester.

As someone who lives far from Yorkshire I can thoroughly recommend it to visitors. I'm sure it's a wonderful place in which to live and work too.

It is a brilliant place to live - God's own country!
I'm surprised so many people want to go to other places from LBA

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
