Just flew back with Ryanair from Porto having not been since pre pandemic, both flights were full. Both ways BHX was great too. I don’t understand the reluctance with Ryanair to not increase the frequency, surely a third flight on a Friday would be a no brainier if the Wednesday flight is so full. Also is the Ryanair fleet that’s based at BHX still the old fit out? We flew back on an away based aircraft (I believe as the crew were portugese) and the new slimmer seats make it feel more spacious

Booked for New York with Aer Lingus via Dublin next March. I’d found the flights but was struggling to get the hotel we wanted so popped into the travel agent to see what they could do. Managed to get a great deal with the flights and the hotel we wanted but you can really see why BHX will struggle to get a direct NY link anytime soon, all the best deals were directing you to LHR.

Me and some family members have booked BHX-BFS with easyJet departing on October 20th (EZY192) and returning on the 31st (EZY199).

The plan is to with stay with friends in County Tyrone which is apparently a bit damp at that time of year…
Enjoy, we are flying to Dublin next weekend visiting family for the first time in three years.

My dad flew to Thiruvanathapuram (an airport in the southern India state of Kerala) via Amsterdam yesterday. Thanks to poor connection time with Emirates (the staple choice for many flying to India), we chose this 2 stop flight. We picked this flight over other options that were available from Heathrow and Manchester mainly due to convenience. Even though the other airports had cheaper fares nothing beats the experience of flying out from your local. And the fare difference wasn't much given that we had to travel via coach to the other airports at ungodly hours ahead of a 13-14 hour flight journey with a single stop.

The flight from Birmingham was the 6:00am KLM flight that was operating under Etihad codeshare. From Amsterdam, it was an Etihad flight to Abu Dhabi and finally from Abu Dhabi it was an Air Arabia Abu Dhabi flight (a new JV between Etihad and Air Arabia) to Thiruvanathapuram.

October 12 at 0915 I'm booked on KL1422 to Amsterdam and after arriving there I will be scurrying to find KL705 and the Boeing 789 flight to Rio de Janeiro arriving there at 1940.

After a night's sleep and a good day dining in lively Lapa, its straight to Rio's other Airport, Santos Domont, for the 2005 LAN Airlines LA3941flight to São Paulo again transiting for another LAN flight, LA3104 leaving at 2145 for Santa Genoveva Airport in Goiania in Central Brasil.

Then, after nearly two weeks with friends it is a return journey, getting into Brum from Paris with AF1064 at 1635 on October 31.

Well, that's the plan - and I have the tickets!

Just an update on my plans to fly into Central Brasil next week.

Unfortunately, KLM has cancelled my 0915 flight to Amsterdam. However, this airline has never let me down and so, with partner airline AF, they have now routed me to Rio de Janeiro via Paris on the same day.

The only downside is that I will have to get up a bit earlier. Instead of flying out of Brum at 0915, it will now be 0600.

In KLM I trust....

Yesterday I was flying with my brother and arrived a little after 6am, like BrumX I found there was a long security line, I wasn’t keeping track of time but if I had to guess it maybe took 20 minutes to clear. Airside was very quiet and clean and boarding was fast enough. someone with a sense of humour had left a paper dart plane in the ceiling near Gate 15!

Arrived from BFS last night. We had to wait on the taxiway for a little while before a marshal appeared, then for some reason only the front door was used for disembarking the A319, people went to the rear of the plane expecting to disembark and were left standing in the aisle waiting for the front to empty out. I don’t know if this was the responsibility of easyJet or Swissport.

In addition, only one Air-Rail car was working meaning a longer wait than usual and people being left behind as the car was rammed. On its own this might have been insignificant but it didn’t feel great after that disembarking experience.

In summary- slightly disappointed. I was travelling light and can imagine it might have been quite unpleasant for those with small children, heavy luggage etc…

Just flew G-DRTA from BHX to AYT.
141 pax on board ...return flight will be full according to cabin crew. Expected as it's Xmas returnees. Tbh I was expecting today's flight to not be as busy out to Antalya. Seems AYT is busy busy year round now. Think price has something to do with it and the lovely 20c I just arrived into....lavly

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
