Thanks to everyone for some excellent info about Puerto Mogan. I'm starting to get excited but it's still five months away 🙁

Irish Tavern around the marina just don't let the wife discover the home made cheesecake or the pink gins, deadly stuff.

I showed this to Mrs F and apparently we are now heading straight there on day one 🙂

er....what is so special about Alicante? My previous travels have been Sth. Asia and Africa below equator. Not exactly Ryanair fare!
Costa Blanca is booming again. Unbelievably spurred on the the TV show Benidorm. Have to say I thought the coastal parts of the Blanca (Benidorm (ghastly in all respects) apart) are nicer than the Del Sol, but the Andalusia hinterland of the Del Sol knocks spots of the Blanca hinterland.

Alicante airport is fantastic, though. Top stuff and a lesson for UK airports.

I've never been to the Costa Blanca. Maybe I am being a little narrow minded but just the mere thought of Benidorm has always put me off. I must delve further into what is on offer further along the coast.

I too have never been to the Costa Blanca and the thought of Benidorm fills me with mixed feelings. However, am going to a wedding in September in Calpe just up the coast from Benidorm and on paper it looks a nice place. Maybe worth considering? Jet2 by the way

Been to Alicante quite a few time as my brother in law lives in that part of the world in Torrevieja turn left on leaving the airport and drive for 40 minutes it's a nice place Alternatively turn right and drive 40 minutes and you get Benidorm we went for a day trip and if you've ever seen the tv program it's not far off the mark definitely not our taste.

Cant wait for Puerto Mogan In a few weeks with Jet2 chalk and cheese so to speak not a chippy or Red Lion in sight

Went to this part of Spain last year. Drove past Benidorm and was glad we weren't staying there!

Keep going up the coast and the area around the Montgó (mountain) and Xàbia (Jávea) I found really nice. Some really spectacular scenery as well.

I'm off there in May (I too can't wait) so will be asking for any recommendations closer to the time 👍

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
