The Wizz figures are very worrying. The movements are the same I beleve. It would be a disaster if they reduced flights.

CAA stats for November

A total of 43,135 passengers used the airport during November 15.8% up on November last year. Rolling passenger totals stand at 876,610 3.7% up

Not a bad month at all but as Heather has already pointed out, this is likely to change when Easyjet pull out. How many passengers is Easyjet carrying does any one know?

They had been carrying upto 20,000 a month during summer, but a quick glance at the route break down suggests that the AMS service handled only 3400 in November. Was it Snoclo during November or was it not untill December?

December 2010

With the rider about the bad weather affecting flights in December, I copy below the CAA provisional stats for December.

Donny handled 37,515 passengers in the month, up 1% on December 2009. Atms for the month were up 13.4%.

The provisional annual figures for 2010 is 876,219 which is an increase of 5% on 2009.

DSA was the second best performing UK airport (after LBA) in 2010 with its 5% passenger numbers rise.

It was actually a 1% decrease, which is shame really as it's been on the up since April! No doubt caused by being snow closed on 1st-5th, and on the 7th, and the runway being closed due to an aircraft crash on 9th. Not been DSA's month really! Basically, that 37k is only 78% of what could have been achieved!

Yes not really a good month for DSA and it was of course the last month of easyjet operations before their withdrawal of services.

Thanks for the updated table. It makes it much easier to see how the airport is performing. What do you envisage the reduction will be for next year when the loss of easyjet is taken into account plus any additional charters etc?

I think it is dangerous to look at short term numbers and extrapolate trends. You need to look over longer periods to asses how well a facility like an airport is doing. As far as DSA is concerned, I would say that now we have 5 years of numbers, it is useful to take a general view of yearly total stats and conclude that the airport looks like it seems to be keeping to an average of around 900 PAX per year.
The difficulty is how does the organisation go about doubling this figure, it will be interesting to see how the next years of operation pan out and which operators will come and go.

To be honest, the drops won't be that big as about two thirds of the gap left by easyJet has been filled, with new Ryanair and Thomas Cook flights, and larger aircraft being used from Thomson and Thomas Cook. We probably won't see anything else being announced for this summer, but if what I've been hearing turns out to be correct, then 2012 will turn out to be a very good year! Summer schedules are due to be released in April-time so more will be found out then! :good:

does anyone have the latest pax figures ?

36546, with an increase on last year by 0.7%. Small increase, but an increase nonetheless! ;)

Is that figure after the departure of Easyjet? If so that's not bad going for Doncaster.

They operated to the 4th. Plus there is still the FlyBe Belfast City figures to be added when they are released.

But it's already above January 2010 - by 0.7%. As you say, this will increase once the Jersey and Belfast flights get added.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
