Great to see these larger aircraft but lets hope schedule gets back to normal asap. The strength of the KLM service is its frequency which avoids prolonged waits for connections at AMS.

I'm booked on the mid morning in September and it still showing a 737-700 which is after the passenger cap ends so fingers crossed it runs as planned. if you're on a European flight thats a bit longer (i.e. not this one) the mainline KLMs are quite good for getting the seats with extra leg room when you check in when you're my height!

Next Wednesday is showing that the mid morning flight will be operating on a 737-900. Is this the first time a 900, of any airline, has been to LBA?
Futura Airlines, on behalf of either TUI or Thomas Cook operated the 737-900 for a season, once weekly PMI-LBA-PMI. It was 2007 or 2008… cannot remember exactly.

Do remember the extra emergency exit at the back giving it away.

Boeing 737-900 PH-BXR operating from Amsterdam to a foggy Manchester diverted into LBA on 05 January 2009.

Slightly off topic, Futura B737-900 EC-KQQ first appeared at LBA on 15 June 2008.

The authorities at AMS Schipol have imposed further daily passenger caps through to November so lets see how this impacts KLM's scheduling - interestingly the cap is lower than August with one of the reasons being people wear more clothes through security in the Autumn.

I do wonder if KL should be looking at their partner AF through CDG to help grow LBA in the absence of any LHR code share and the caps at AMS - there is still leakage from the discontinued BA flights.

KLM have today released details of further cuts to the Amsterdam routes during September & October. My guess is that we will see further flights being upgraded to the Embraer 190-E2 or the Boeing 737's so to consolidate.

LBA schedule impacted as follows.

They will operate 61 round trips in September & 58 round trips in October.
2 months ago, KLM were planning 86 & 82 round trips respectively.

Fares have shot up. Wonder whether this is is related to KLM now having monopoly on the route as well as supply and demand issues due to reduced flights. Lead in fare LBA-AMS return is now £162 compared to £89 MAN-AMS return. More expensive than MME, HUY, and much more than NCL

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
