What really hacks me off is when you see Ryanair announce routes like Cologne and Frankfurt Main to Manchester, instead of trying them from LBA, LPL or even NCL. Manny already has flights to these destinations care of Germanwings, Lufthansa etc.

I was fancying a day trip to Dublin and note that you have to return at around 1600 from Dublin now rather than a time of around 2000 the last time I went.
Is this new ?
It makes it much less attractive if you want to go and return the same day.

As always with the summer schedule Mon to Fri FR156/157 is operated early evening by a Dublin based aircraft. where as you'll find the weekend Sat - Sun are still late night return using an Leeds based aircraft so still good for a day trip.

If you want to do a midweek Dublin day trip, why not try going outbound on the early Ryanair and return on the retimed later Aer Lingus service which starts next week.

I know it is early for Summer 2018 but do any of you have hope of a 4th based aircraft?

Ryanair are very good at growing presence, seats and frequencies by using away based aircraft however it would be very good for the local economy if they finally after is it 8 years of 3 based aircraft.

Well, with no sign of MOL changing his outlook on the UK since before brexit was even voted for I highly doubt it, at least for next year. That being said, we will eventually have certainty about what's going to happen and so will Ryanair so I don't doubt UK based expansion in the future.
I too hope for another sizable expansion as we've seen this summer. Looking through the Ryanair thread it was summer 2012 (5 years ago) we got the third based a/c. Ryanair is currently the only airline capable of driving expansion into new markets from LBA - especially year-round city destinations. Interestingly, we used to have flights to Milan/BGY, does anyone know what the loads were like? Madrid is another destination I think could do well. Additionally, I think RYR could actually help to greatly increase passenger numbers on city routes to Rome, Budapest, Prague and Berlin which currently have a relatively high priced, limited operation courtesy of Jet2. Finally, I'd like to see further expansion into eastern Europe. Bucharest currently supports 3x weekly A321 flights from DSA with Wizz and Sofia 2x A320 flights.

Ryanair have added some extra flights from Leeds/Bradford on its routes to Alicante, Malaga and Riga over the Christmas & New Years period as follows.

Great...another based old crate!!! When was the last time we had one from the FRx or FZx ranges based here??

That's a bit rich Bigman. An 'old crate' as you describe it may well be a geriatric bird as far as Ryan are concerned at 12 years old but it can't compare with the Jet2 old crates we have seen and are still seeing on a regular basis at Leeds and elsewhere.

I'm not ar Ryan fan either but had my third flight with them last month but have to say (annoyingly perhaps) that my flight to Chania and back went without a hitch.

I give up!!! All I was pointing out was that we never seem to get any nice new air frames based here. It is not as if they haven't enough to pick from.

I had 3 flights with them earlier this month and they were all on time with attentive crew and no "hard sell".

Ryanair have made huge customer service strides in the last 12 to 18 months. They also do have a comparatively young fleet. If I had MOL's money then I wouldn't be overly concerned about things with my airline!

Can anyone suggest when the summer 2018 flights "outline" will be out. I am particularly interested on what might be offered to the Canaries Thursday.

Yes, I know it's 12 months off........................

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
