It sounds as though these 'buildings' are very much needed and not easily re located !

These buildings are all needed but are part of a terminal that is well past its sell-by date and in need of replacement. However that is another story and not specifically Ryanair related, of course.

I see in the BBC Scotland news that Aberdeen is to have a sizeable terminal increase so why not Leeds?
And Aberdeen is not 'growing' at the moment whereas it seems that Leeds will need that extra space!

Where would the proposed apron extension take place?

The masterplan has plans included which show where the apron extensions will take place, but they are all towards the Eastern end, near the previous extension now used by Jet2.

Heads up: Ryanair will celebrate 20 years of continuous operations from Leeds/Bradford Airport this week. I understand the airports marketing team will be out and about in Leeds City Centre on Friday giving away free Ryanair flights....

I wonder if we might get a nice early announcement regards next summer 2017 schedule as well?

Yet more good news! As Ryanair have just announced 2x more new routes from Leeds/Bradford for the winter 2016/17 scheduled. The airline will operate 2x weekly to both Bratislava in Slovakia and Vilnius in Lithuania.

I would think they would be year round routes unless poorly supported through the winter but I would consider that unlikely, in fact if a 4th aircraft for Ryanair is to be based from the summer onwards these are the kind of routes that will be needed. Maybe this is just the start. Of course Ryanair said that future investment in the UK following Brexit would be scaled back -- so who knows? Just have to wait and see but this is at least a positive move in the right direction.

I know Britex could indeed hinder growth but I'd like to think Ryanair will operate a business as usual approach until such time as there's a market slow down. If routes to eastern Europe take a hit, there are plenty of unserved routes that could be served.

Ryanair’s winter 2016/17 schedule programme is looking pretty impressive now with 51 weekly rotations been operated with 4 new routes introduced to Las Palmas, Warsaw, Vilnius, Bratislava & Faro reintroduced as a winter destination. It has also added extra flights on routes to Krakow, Gdansk, Lanzarote & Alicante and the 3rd based aircraft (previously standby aircraft) is been put into service...

I understand Leeds - Gerona Barcelona route will recommence next summer 2017 operating 2x weekly initially on Mondays and Fridays.
