The Ryanair (Malta Air) flight to Pisa just departed off 14. I have never, in all my days, heard a 737 (or any other jet engine) sound like that did. It sounded more like a heavy prop engine aircraft. It was like a scene from Airplane! Weird.

Picked the wrong year to give up drinking. Picked the wrong year to give up smoking. Picked the wrong year to give up sniffing glue :ROFLMAO:

tell me about it WH! I was just finishing a driving lesson in bramley when it flew over, both me and my pupil got out the car to check what it was, we thought a c130 herc was flying underneath it! my pupil said he would not want to be flying on that plane lol

Apparently the flight to Pisa in s continuing from MAN on another aircraft.
As the poorly 737 took 3 goes to land then ate a bird on take off, you could forgive the crew maybe wishing they had stayed in bed today.
Appears to have circled twice at 4000 feet in the vicinity of MAN (burning off fuel, landing prep/briefings/check lists?) before landing first time.

I have to say i was at home heard it, didn't even bother to check flight radar as i thought it was the RAF ladies and gents practicing. Never have i heard an 737-800 sound so god damn awful.

Must of been a very big beard, or a flock of birds, OR went into the engine the wrong way.

Well it was descending whilst doing its couple of loops to the NE of the airport so perhaps at 4000 feet it needed to lose some height before the approach.

when it flew over bramley and Pudsey you could tell it was flying at a much lower speed, quite worrying , not the best time to have a damaged engine just after takeoff and flying into todays high winds!

All part of the training. I know when they run performance figures, they base it on loosing 1 engine. Never on 2.

Pilots and their support network (Flight Planning & Operations) will always plan on worst case rather than best case.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
