It is tech lbaspotter and requires an engineer from LHR to repair it.

Engineer passengering up on 1342 and all pax will travel on 1343. Still 319 I believe.

This is the second time an LHR engineer has been required. The lack of Airbus engineering at LBA is proving to be a real pain.

What a disastrous 2 days for this route and BA in general....

We use to have TCX and bmi based Airbus engineer's at LBA. Well that's until they both pulled out. Hopefully things may change in March when Monarch start based operations.

Saying that don't BA have any engineers based at there other Northern Stations like over at MAN or up at NCL who could have got here by road quicker.

if they pay me enough I will get my spanners back out. However the engineer may need replacement parts or test equipment so unless they set up an engineering base and a stock of spares this will still be a problem. Other option is to ask for third party engineering cover.

Well back in the days of the large regional/mainline base the remaining bmi regional engineers at LBA all used to work on the based A319/20's as well as the embraer's.

Monarch engineering will probably help out as long as its not a problem with the engine's.

The last time i was in MAN & NCL BA did have their own engineers based there.

A Jet2 engineer was authorized to have a look and try a simple reset with some electrics however parts were required and to be done by their own approved engineers which unfortunately took all day to get put into place.

Does anybody know whats happened to BA's 1342, it looks like it went down to London, circled and arrived back at LBA

BRADFORD CITY at Wembley. First full BA A319 perhaps. Should add a few anyway.

If we are talking about 3 impossible things before breakfast (first one being Bradford City last night), then how about a BA upgrade to 767's for the Wembley weekend!!

I can't see figures that far ahead but surely they will be full.....?!

Zero chance of 767 imo though :)

As an avid LUFC supporter well done to all at Bradford City. Hope it goes better than ours did in 1996.

..which ironically was against Aston Villa!!! and we got beat 3-0 I seem to remember.

And why not a 767 if the bookings justify it!!! There have been many precedents of airlines upgrading for the day to cater for the footie fans.

We did lose 3-0 to Villa yes. I was there. Shame LUFC didn't bother to turn up too. Well done to Bradford City. I am not sure just what impact it will have on the BA flight though - it will depend on timings and how convenient it is to get from Heathrow to Wembley by public transport. Perhaps they will charter something?

I was there as well Heather. A dismal day.

LBA not in Perf manuals of 767's Bigman. 320/321 would be a possibility but only busy flight wld be 1341 and poss 1344 I expect. BA don't generally change equipment because of sporting fixtures.

I'd just be happy to see 144 on a 319 :)

Leeds route is restricted to been operated by the ex bmi Airbuses out of Heathrow T1 until the schedule change over which take place on March 31st. So the best we could hope for is either a few of the existing A319 are full or maybe see an upgrade to an A320 or even better the A321...
I think I’m correct in saying that all the British Airway's fleet of Boeing 767's are based over at T5 operating on the mixed fleet. So there won’t be able to slot in and do any of the Leeds-Heathrow shuttle flights that weekend.

Would it be possible for extra flights, or say Jet2 putting on flights to Luton and getting the west coast main line train into London or other local trains.
Presume on the 24th Feb, plenty of spare aircraft about.

Operations can produce performance charts for any airfield within 30 mins and supply them to the crew. We did this all the time for off route destinations. I would also suspect our present operation is being operated by the ex Bmi crews who were swallowed by Ba. I wonder if things might change when we start seeing original Ba crew operating the flights on our foggy days.

id expect East Coast Trains will put on a Bradford FS to London KX special calling at Leeds en route. it usually does for other football fixtures in London

Of course they 'can' tow a 767 over to T1 and produce perf charts but I'll be very surprised if they do. In fact I'd be utterly amazed. A321/A320 isn't unthinkable but they're not auto land approved at LBA a d what a disaster that wld be if its foggy (Feb don't forget) and the jet doesn't get in. If I were making the decision I'd stick with the 319 that seems to get in OK.

By the way, just because the route is from T1, the pilots operating from day 1 have been a mixture of BA and ex-BMI. All pilots fly all the trips with no segregation between BA/BMI routes at all. BMI was gone within 6 months and everyone is 'as one'.

Just came back on tonights BA flight from London. Total pax 56. According to crew 20 booked on return flight to LHR.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
