Probably not but we paid good money for Club World but there is no guarantee that you get a business class seat on other carriers or it's a simple refund if we don't like it....we booked this last January and have our expensive hotel paid for and car hire.....who refunds that? Won't be BA will it as it was booked separately.

I would be very surprised if you couldn’t be rerouted in J on another carrier.

The Dragon and me are flying Club World from LGW to TPA on Tuesday on the ageing 777-200 but they have been recently refurbished, anybody any experience on the refirb ones and are they ok?
Can't comment on routing but are you driving to Gatportairwick or training it??

in cw won't be a great deal of difference apart from updated and better IFE, and refreshed seats.

Driving down on Monday mid morning and staying at a hotel in the airport called BLOC...room overlooks the runway apparently, rather stay there the night before and not have to battle the motorway, roadworks, accidents, M25 etc...last thing I need...flight at 12:30 so a nice easy start to the day. Never flown from Gatportairwick, supposed to be good.

I stopped at that hotel once, the room was shall we say ' compact' !!

Best way is A1 then M25 over the QE bridge and towards Gatters that way...I did it via Heathrow this summer and never ever again.....They are boiled loonies at driving on that part of the er `orbital`

I have paid for a deluxe room overlooking the runway and it wasn’t cheap so I hope its not compact!

I'm not sure which room I went for....I had a window.....that was dearer. It was about 100 pound of a bit more from memory. Not cheap as you say.

Ok...was going to wait until the morning but here you go, windows are dirty and a reflection but you can see the runway lights on the left. Room is very big with a great shower area....

Many thanks, impressed...Now that room I would rate worth the cost..Enjoy the trip

Todays LHR flight was operated by G-EUPJ in the retro BEA livery.

Yes the flight from Heathrow was but the aircraft taxiied for departure on time, then returned to the apron and was still parked on Stand 9 when I left the airport around 1300

Anyone know what the problem is ?

Not sure what the problem was but it finally got away just before 14.00.

Looking through the CAA provisional passenger figures for the London Heathrow to Leeds/Bradford route, if it continues to average 8,000 a month then British Airways will carry its 1 millionth passenger by September 2020. That will be 7 years and 10 months since the route was reintroduced.

Notice. Had date wrong before edited, should be September 2020 not as I originally quoted December 2019.

I rang BA yesterday to see about coming home from Tampa to Gatwick 4 days early as the weather forcast is overcast....she quoted me £6700.00 for 2 seats in Club, even though we are already in club.....no thank you.....nearly passed out. I only paid £6500.00 for the flight and 2 weeks in a nice hotel with a beach room, mind you that was back in January in the BA sale.

I think I would stay in Tampa, I'm developing webbed feet. :drowning:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
