I know Tivat is quite close to DBV but it still takes a good 90 minutes drive to reach Dubrovnik and at certain times the queues to cross the border can be busy. I think that tourism in Montenegro is increasing enough to warrant its own flight. I do think Tivat is a great addition to MAN, and I hope to try a trip to visit Kotor soon.

Easyjet have announced 2 winter routes.

Gran Canaria 2 weekly from 2nd Nov, Turin 1 weekly from 10th Dec.

Not going to set the heather alight, however, every little helps.

New 3 weekly Kraków route from Easyjet. Flies Thu/Thu/Sat and already bookable from 1st November.

EZY have flights on sale for early summer 2017. User001 will have a better handle on this, but the first 2 destinations I've checked in early June show Bilbao up to 5 x weekly and Berlin at 13 x weekly. Am I misreading it - after all it is early!

And AMS 21 x weekly with 4 flights Fri and Mon. (only 1 Sat.)

Edit: I'm sure there are reductions to Turkey with Antalya only weekly in June.
More flights on shorter sectors would mean potential for extra departures and increased capacity overall even with the same number of based a/c. We need to see the final picture.

It seems the battle for Berlin and Hamburg is raging on.

As noted, Berlin goes 13 weekly, against daily Ryanair.

Hamburg goes 10 weekly after years of 5/6 weekly against daily Ryanair and 2 daily Eurowings. Worth noting Blue Air also start 4 weekly LPL-HAM in March too. Bit too much capacity there me thinks.

As point to point capacity goes that is very high!

However there are pretty close ties between the UK and Germany across a number of sectors, increasingly including tourism.

Perhaps it has quietly been underserved?

For the first half of June 2017, I make it 229 weekly departures.

The ACL start of summer report for 2016 showed peak week ATMs for easyjet of 434, i.e 217 departures.
Whether that changed subsequently, I don't know.

I guess it depends whether late July/August sees an increase in weekly departures from early June (as most of the schedules are currently only loaded until 23 June or thereabouts), and whether there are any new routes to be announced, to be able to assess the final position. In terms of seat capacity, the mix of A319/320 will be relevant.

When I get home later I'll see how things lie with based aircraft. Supposed to be getting 2 more but I'll double check.

In terms of routes:

Athens goes from 3 to 4 weekly
Berlin goes from 8 to 13 weekly
Hamburg goes from 5 weekly to 10 weekly
Alicante from 7 to 8 weekly

Gran Canaria seems to stop 22 March so far

Just had a look and there is definately at least 12 based next summer, and increase of 1.

Can someone have a look at Saturday's for me if they get a chance, there seems to be 14-15 departures in the first wave, with 2 that look away based in the form of CDG/PSA that have departures around 10am (these 2 were not included in the 14-15 based calculations).

I don't expect 15 based, an increase of 4 based units would be too much in my opinion.

Just had 1 trawl through and I only make it 11 for the first wave Saturday, 10 June, returning 17 June.
There is a 07.45 dep. to HAM which in fact originates from HAM at 06.35. Likewise, the 08.10 to SXF leaves Berlin at 06.30.

The 11 I found are:
06.00 SOF; 06.10 AGP; 06.15 MLA; 06.50 BFS; 07.00 AMS; 07.00 CFU; 07.00 GVA; 07.05 JMK;
07.15 ALC; 07.15 VCE; 07.25 CPH; (apologies if I've missed any)

If those times for HAM and SXF are replicated on other days, you might find the present schedules only require the 11 based we had this summer - unless of course there are further frequency increases for July/Aug or new routes to be announced. Are you aware if any new routes are likely?

Some great increases. Got to be careful not to overkill HAM but I think these upgrades are good.
What was Bilbao before?
Great to see ATH up to 4 weekly, that makes 'daily' effectively with Aegean.

I think KEF is only 2 x weekly. Was that the pattern this year with higher frequencies in the winter or were there increases in peak summer?

Some great increases. Got to be careful not to overkill HAM but I think these upgrades are good. .

I guess it depends if you want to see up to 5 flights a day to HAM (more than FRA) risking over capacity and then reductions (a la Madrid), or a/c used for new destinations. And there's still quite a few of the latter not on MAN's departure boards as has been discussed before - various cities in Eastern Europe and Seville for example.

Yes I was saying that we have to be cautious with HAM but the other upgrades are good e.g. Bilbao
I should have made that more clear.

I agree about Bilbao, and Basel has had increases in the past as I recall. I would rather see frequencies upped on routes that start at say 2 x weekly like MRS which would indicate a new route is successful than use limited resources to try and outdo a competitor, at least where demand is doubtful. That said, with the cheap pound, Germany may be one of those countries from which we can attract extra visitors.

I've had a look at the timetables again, and it was HAM and SXF that threw me, but. Looking at a few dates, there is definately a need for up to 13 aircraft, which is what I was told to expect.

Plenty of gaps for new routes which is promising.

I have also now done a check. It only seems to be 11 based. First wave requires 11 A/C all week except Sunday at present

There are definately 12/13 days in the skeds.

Mon=12
Tue=11
Wed=11
Thu=12
Fri=12
Sa=13
Sun=11

There is definately 12 based at least, stand requests confirm. But, have been told to expect 13.

Sorry can only find 11 max at present.

First wave on Monday is for example as below. Ignore flight Nos

0700 1035 CDG 1925/6

0715 1155 BIO 1949

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
