A friend of mine took this pic of an A380 on the 4th of June at 11:30am from his back garden in West Park (link to the pic on Facebook).

It was taken at 11:30 am on 4th June. Focal length 126mm, about x35 zoom. Hand held too! He took at a high res and cropped the photo which makes the subject appear larger.

There's been a few flights heading right over the top of LBA bound for Manchester this evening. Looking at FR24 it appears that they are conducting weather avoidance.

What was the aircraft that flew overhead the airport at approximately 13:30 today? It looked like a world war two aircraft. I didn't see the aircraft for long enough because I was driving through Yeadon at the time. It looked like it was doing a fly-bye.

It was the Battle of Britain Dakota.
It flew low over cookridge then over airport an away west.
It was schedualed to fly past Sherburn then onto Lytham St Anne's

Just seen my first ever 787 Dreamliner!! :yahoo: It was a Thomson flight from Manchester to Larnaca. I saw it through the binocs from here in Leeds as it flew over the Peak District. At that distance I couldn't make out much and it was through FR24 that I knew what it was, but still I'm well chuffed!!!

Another Thomson 787 has just flown by heading north at 40,000ft! Two in one day nice :D

Yes it came over at 09:55 and was TUID. Could make it out clearly even at that altitude.

Sorry I think that information was wrong the aircraft that went overhead was B747-400 N465MC of Atlas Air. The Dreamlifter was somewhere else in the area and has now gone from my Sbs box listing.

Rare species just flown overhead on a clear day in the form of Lufthansa MD 11F D-ALCG en route to Chicago. Nice to see a tri-jet in the daylight as they usually either go a different route or come over in the dark. I remember seeing tri-jets often as a child but I presume some of these would have been L1011 Tri-Stars as well as MD's

Does anyone know if the Vulcan was out and about today? Something very noisy, different, and - as it appeared from between the clouds for a split second - appeared to be Delta Wing went over head up in the Dales approx 3.30pm today

Hi Michael & Avidor

It can't have been Vulcan XH558, I can guarantee you that for sure as she’s definitely not flying at the moment seen as she's been grounded since the discovery of the leaking fuel tank just prior to the flight on 1st September 2013.
Since then she has been sat inside the hangar at Doncaster-Sheffield Airport undergoing the routine winter servicing work which also includes the costly (via fund raising) manufacturing of the wing leading edge strengthening plates along with it's complex installation which will take place in a few weeks time. This was a requirement as part of the Flying Life Extension which will allow Vulcan XH558 to fly for 2 further air show seasons.

I wouldn't expect to see her in the sky until at least April/May at the earliest for tests and training sorties. For more details about Vulcan ZH558 check out there website here http://www.vulcantothesky.org/ Or you could also sign up to receive the weekly news letter (Posted by email every Friday) regarding Vulcan XH558 by using the following link http://www.vulcantothesky.org/newsletter-sign-up.html

Hope that's off help

Just seen G-TUID come right overhead heading from NCL to EMA at around 24,000. Looked brilliant. Closest we will be to ever seeing one in Leeds!!!

Today a t about 1105hrs just east of Skipton, I heard the familiar whomp whomp sound of the UH-1. On looking up I could see it was flying North and painted white with what looked like military markings on the tail boom. Did anyone else see it or know what air force was flying it. I thought It might have something to do with the NATO summit.

Travelling east west between Bingley and Guiseley yesterday and was astonished to see what appeared to be a Vulcan flying parallel at about 500 feet. Other people on the road stopped to look at it. I caught sight of it a few minutes later in the distance in the east.

Can anyone confirm what it was and where it had been/was going?

Thanks

Rita

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
