Surprised about Murcia but the 2 'new' routes are exciting destinations. Interesting that both are Italian island destinations. Sicily is a popular port destination for the cruise market and has recently been offering subsidies to fly there so it must have been a no brainer for Jet2, and Sardinia's Costa Smeralda is quite simply stunning, though accomdation can be a little pricey.

I see on the European Airport Forum thread that jfy1999 has reported that Ryanair are to open a base in Zagreb (https://forums4airports.com/threads/2635/).

I wonder if LBA will finally get a link to the Croatian capital?

Just back on the subject of SSH, TUI have recently taken DSA & CWL SSH for W21 off sale, not sure if this is down to poor bookings, but clearly demand isn't that stable for SSH at the moment - considering we are still a way off W21.

Why do you say ‘finally’ get a link to the Croatian capital?

Until now, only LHR and LGW have ever had flights to Zagreb at pretty low frequency. The only exception was the Monarch service from Manchester. It was doing well, it seems, but the airline closed down shortly after its introduction. I could see RYR serving MAN and perhaps EDI but I doubt the market would take much more, given that the holiday regions are served directly from many regional airports.

TUI been TUI? Push DSA customers to EMA/MAN and CWL to BHX/BRS for as you state the demand isn't there or stable enough to be profitable.

Best bets for the short term future? Easyjet and perhaps a route into Lahore. Maybe some tinkering around the edges with Loganair, KLM and Aer Lingus. Increase or establish base numbers for existing airlines.

think a few more FR additions would be good, Cyprus remains untouched by them from LBA, also something different like SOF, which they seem to operate from a few UK bases

what Pakistan operators are they out there that could operate a LBA to lahore or islamabad route?

The 3 I know of are Banned Air, COVID Air and Quarantine Air! Seriously though I am not convinced a Pakistan route, however useful it would be, is really close to any sort of fruition. Despite claims/desires that have been made relatively recently. As ever though, would love to be proved wrong
