Great pic.

Being a curious being I wondered why this 787 has the name 'Mr Patmore'. A quick Google revealed that Mr and Mrs Patmore won a Thomson competition to find the most romantic couple in the country, or at least the couple with the most romantic tale to tell about themselves.

The prize was having a 787 named after them - apparently there is a Mrs Patmore Dreamliner as well.

Those are lovely pictures Sir, but now is the time to forget visiting my local and favored airport.

An adverse decision with regards to my PIP application has meant that I receive no PIP benefits, and that my existing DLA benefits are withdrawn. They say that I am not worthy of help from the State because I am not either sick or disabled enough to satisfy the DWP. 6 Strokes and a totally wrecked ankle is not enough to satisfy them it seems.

This means my income has been reduced to the basic ESA allowance similar to unemployment benefits but without the add on's like free prescriptions and council tax reductions.

I lose my Motability Vehicle next week and shall become housebound relative to local situations such as buses and living in a village.

You, my friends upon this forum are my eyes and ears until Virgin Media pull my internet so I shall be piggybacking open WIFI as best I can.

Thank you.

Jennyjet; so sorry to hear of your troubles. It is a very difficult position. Spurred by your mail I have been reading http://www.motability.co.uk/PIP_Information_Leaflet.pdf

Can the decision be appealed via a Consultant if DWP turned you down? Have you tried looking for MP support also? I want to live in a country that cares for people when, through no fault of their own, they need such assistance. That's what I want a proportion of my tax to cover.

Great pictures as always Simon (y)

Jenny, I'm very sorry to hear that, hopefully the info provided above will be of some help.

Jenny,

I read your last post concerning your current situation.

I would like to offer you help if you need it, having ill health and no car can quickly sap a person's spirit.

If you need to get to the shops or an important appointment, I could easily pick you up and drop you off to save you having to deal with public transport.

My wife would willingly come along so you need not feel awkward in the car with an unknown male.

Please bear this in mind, you are not alone.

Andy.

Great pictures! It is superb to see Alitalia at BHX and MAN but now no more. The Air India and PIA certainly look retro and I love the dark blue of the KLM. They should do another retro logo using this blue stripe.

Wow! A TOM 762. Germanwings had an atrocious livery on this picture (even though it clearly wasn't finished) but nevertheless, their silver and yellow old livery was awful. Great pictures though, thanks for posting. It is particularly interesting as they show relative rarities today.

I think the Germanwings is just the Lufthansa livery, with titles added and the fin logo removed.
As for rarities, I remember going to LHR as a youngster and getting really fed up with Tridents. How I'd love to see one on approach again now.

Kevin

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
