Oh, and just to keep the record straight it was F-HFKC, not F-HAFS last night.

Oh well never mind, I suppose there must have been a last minute tail swap as F-HAFS was originally down as the planned aircraft to operate.

Got to admit it's more interesting when we get more people posting movements instead of the usual few. Makes the forum more useful for us spotters.

Couldn't agree more LBAspotter. The more people posting the more varied the forum will become.

Sorry lbaspotter ! I wrote it down as F-HFKC and didnt notice you had the wrong registration on your post. It looks very different from F-HAFS with a wide blue stripe down the fuselage. You dont get very many wrong and trevsmiff is a good lad to have on board for extra info.

According to FR24 Ryanair are using an AirExplore 737-400 for this mornings FR153 to Dublin. I heard it but couldn't see it.

Thanks for that a300boy.

One for this morning, Challenger 300 N999ND just crossing Irish west coast, inbound LBA from Gander, eta around 1030 local.

A number of Manchester bound aircraft are holding overhead LBA at the moment. Anybody know why?

A Qatar Airways flight from Doha has been escorted into Manchester by an RAF Typhoon after the pilot received info that a "device" might be on board. I'm watching it on the news now and it says flights are being diverted to LBA.

Looks like we only had the Jet2 aircraft diverting to LBA as FR24 was showing a 767 heading in to land at MAN, and as I type the news says Manchester is now back to normal as far as arrivals and departures are concerned.

We have had x4 Jet2 Manchester arrivals

G-GDFJ - Ibiza
G-LSAD - Palma
G-LSAB - Malaga
G-LSAH - Alicante

I'm not sure if they will reposition back over to MAN with pax as MAN is back open now

Do we get the passenger numbers on our stats?

It seems not. On both CAA stats tables 12.1 (International Passenger Route Analysis) and 12.3 (Domestic Passenger Route Analysis) the following footnote appears:

In order to preserve market analysis all identifiable diversions are reallocated to the point of intended operation.

Due to the incident I understand that LBA took 5x MAN diverts this afternoon, With all been Jet2 aircraft.

EXS930/LS930 - From Reus = Boeing 737-300, G-CELK
EXS27N/LS170 - From Ibiza = Boeing 737-800, G-GDFJ
EXS27U/LS810 - From Malaga = Boeing 757-200, G-LSAD
EXS55G/LS832 - From Palma = Boeing 757-200WL, G-LSAB
EXS77X/LS880 - From Alicante = Boeing 757-200, G-LSAH

hi lbaspotter
re the jet2 man diverts yesterday
were the pax off-loaded at lba and bussed over to man?or was it a splash & dash back to man when it re-opened.
regards
sm1
ps are you up on sat?

Seems strange having a plane with a possible bomb on board fly over a major population area, would have thought a divert to somewhere like Prestwick called for.

...or get the aircraft on the ground as quickly as possible and place it in a safe remote place on the airfield where you can ascertain the severity of the situation? :dunno:

Anyone know why the FR2323 from Murcia and the LS444 from Heraklion have just gone around and followed an unusual track over Yeadon and Guiseley?

Without being there it's hard to say for definite but with all the weather around its probable that they had to weather avoid after the missed approach. Don't quote me on that though.

I thought it might be weather related but it was after the storms around midnight and the visibility was reported as 8km.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
