KLM sent in Embrear 190, PH-EZL on this mornings KLM1545/1546 Amsterdam rotation. Thomson Airways are using Boeing 737-800. G-TAWM on today's TOM1GJ charter service from Tenerife. Meanwhile Easyjet are sending in Airbus A319, G-EZDU from Geneva on the EZY7346 service.

An inbound Cessna 525A CitationJe, N380CR has just declared a full scale emergency and swaking 7700. Hes reported structural damage to the wing and is currently 50 miles out with 2x soles onboard. The tower controller is currently talking to fire chief and he will be taking runway 14 for landing

He just landed safely on runway 14 after taking off from here around 45 mins ago.

Good news! Any indication what the structural wing damage was or the cause?

I know the owner and he flies the aircraft himself, so I will try to ring him and find out what happened and post it if he is happy for me to do so. He lives on the island of Guernsey so he may be travelling back there by other means at the moment.

Global express 9H-VJA just pulled into multiflight. Happy new year to all, even to LS16! :)

Anyone know why the inbound FR2333 from Krakow is heavily delayed this evening? Now showing due 11:30 in morning so taking a wild guess that the crew and passengers have been accommodated overnight in a hotel?

Hi Guys

Anyone know what the following Jet2 flight is all about, EXS31E from Denis Island @ 03:30?

Surly it dosn't really mean its coming all the way into LBA from the private Island in the Seychelles which only has a grass runway, Bit of a long way to go in a light aircraft!

It has been changed to Edinburgh now. That sounds more realistic.

Why do jet2 seem to have these flights from manchester and edinburgh in middle of the night what are they about?

lbaspotter is the best source of this information, but the E on the end of the flight numbers I believe means they are engineering positioning flight.

Anyone know why 2 airport fire tenders were sat in the 14 loop between 10.50 - 11.10 this morning? I thought there may have been an emergency, however EXS061J from Alicante and EZY7346 from Geneva landed ok and without the trucks in pursuit. Shortly after they left the loop.
Also noticed there is always a pick up truck in the 14 loop most of the day recently, why is this? Is it to disperse any flocks of birds?

thanks

The pickup truck, R/T callsign "checker" is an Airport Ops vehicle. The driver spends much of their day driving around the airfield carrying out surface inspections and bird scaring duties, among other things. The occupants of the fire vehicles might simply have fancied a trip outside the fire station. If the Fire Service is on weather standby for crosswind landings they would normally observe these from the station.

Here's a couple of Movements from today

ZK455, BE200 = ILS 11:25 "CWL68"

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
