Albastar did an absolutely awful job last Summer, their Tuesday flight was almost always late and not just late, but heavily late (1.5 hours+) on most occasions if i remember correctly.

Not sure if this has been posted but Norwegian will operate the Tuesday TFS flight for Thomson
TFS-CWL 07.00-11.00 TOM9410
CWL-TFS 11.45-15.50 TOM9411

Will we still see Albastar?

Not anymore Jerry, as Tinkerman pointed out, pretty much always late on a fairly old aicraft which didn't give much confidence to passengers, however I was told the onboard service was very good.

With the Eurowings service, a newer aicraft and timings similar to the AEA flights a couple of years back, depending on the German city the aircraft arrives from will be interesting to see the AC, I couldn't seem to work it out from the eurowings website.

I think that leaves one TBA to be announced for S16 and that's DLM on a Monday which depending on bookings could potentially be dropped, MLA is still in the system but surely is now dropped with sourcing an airline seemingly difficult from a few other airports too after KMs decision to drop these.

MLA will almost certainly be dropped now. It's so difficult to find operators in the peak Summer months anyway, no doubt TOM have been trying but it's hard, and even harder to make it financially viable - These aircraft lessors know how to make their money in the Summer.

More than likely MLA will just switchover to BRS, or if not enough capacity then people look like they will have to rebook.

I can't see MLA happening this year at least. TOM will just send the pax to BRS and I think TCX has started MLA as well.
As for Dalaman flights are on sale on a Monday and Thursday. Thursday is Thomson but Monday on Thomsons website says TBA but on Skyscanner it says operated by Tibet Airlines and the times are the same. On Wikipedia (not 100% reliable) Onur Air is listed as having Cardiff as a seasonal destination so I'm wondering if it could be them if Thomson go ahead with the flight.

I hope that as Flybe expands and hopefully base more Q400s then they might take on routes like MLA and TOM and TCX book on their flights like they do with Faro and both do with Easyjet routes from BRS as I can't see any other airlines taking it on and a weekly Embraer might be the right size aircraft for the route.

I find it strange that there is no Malta flight from CWL (nor from EXT so far as I know) now that Air Malta has discontinued their summer services from these airports.

Not only does BRS keep its 3 x weekly Ryanair flights, but the weekly Air Malta continues and there is a new weekly Thomas Cook flight as well.

With the likes of Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt seeing major problems, which have reduced passenger numbers to those places from everywhere for well documented reasons, Malta might have been a popular alternative.

Its only bhx and brs regional airports keeping the air malta flights as the programme from them is classed as schedule flights. the other regional airports dropped were classed as charter. they will still run heathrow and Gatwick as normal as they are schedule.

Yes it is a shame to lose MLA but i suppose TOM has the problem of finding an operator to base in Malta for the season to operate the flights and unfortunately CWL's scheduled airline Flybe doesn't have the space to fit a MLA flight in. Hopefully they can find a solution for next year. It might be as well that the route to benefit from it and what's going on in Turkey and Egypt is Larnaca especially any potential new service by Cobalt.

Interesting to note that the Monday DLM service is now assigned to a TOM frame which now slightly changes the Monday schedule with regards to flight times:

Original
06:00 Bourgas
09:25 Dalaman ( TBA Turkish carrier )
08:55 Mahon
16:10 Palma
16:10 Ibiza

NEW
06:10 Bourgas
06:20 Mahon
13:30 Palma
16:00 Dalaman
20:30 Ibiza

Makes sense there was a gap there and I think Thomson has really struggled to find carriers this year. In a way it's pity because they could've fitted MLA into that gap but they obviously feel DLM is more of a seat filler.

For one of the aircraft i can only find 1 ACE rotation on Sunday's. I'm wondering if this is because on aircraft has 3 rotations on Monday's and the crew does that instead?

LCA is the the second rotation Jerry, operates at a later timing compared to last summer due to the timing alterations and day changes of some destinations:

06:00 Malaga / 13:25 Zante
07:00 Lanzarote / 16:55 Laranca

Thanks i completely missed LCA! Also BOJ i had to get the flight times from the holiday pages as they aren't for sale on the flights section. Some cheap prices for Bulgaria though and Malta still is down as a Tuesday but it says sold out when clicked on. I've updated it now.

G-TAWC's already in CWL mate. Don't trust FR24's flight numbers, they are often wrong. Especially at the start of the season where that flight number hasn't been logged for sometime, as per the PFO.

Thomson's winter offering for 2017/18.
TFS will 3 weekly. Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Paphos will Wednesday fly 1st, 8th and 15th November with a return flight on the 22nd and there is no return flight on the 1st.
Alicante will be 2 weekly. Tuesday and Saturday.
Gran Canaria will be weekly on a Saturday.
Lanzarote will be 2 weekly on a Thursday and Sunday.
Malaga will be weekly on a Sunday.

Looks very similar to last winter but i think they have dropped FUE which i think they did a couple of times in January.

Apparently Thomson will put on sale their Summer 18 schedule on Thursday 20th April. I honestly can't see it being much different from this years schedule and hopefully they'll still use Eurowings for PMI and Norwegian for TFS as well. Though we may not find that out till much later in the year.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
