TCX busy today at LBA still bringing stranded holiday makers home with three flights from Fuerterventura. Anyone know what aircraft will be operating these flights?

Jet2 are operating the flights on behalf of Thomas Cook.

Hi

The based Airbus A320 will operate as follows today
TCX152L from Dalaman
TCX279K/279L To/From Fuerteventura
TCX782P to East Midlands (Empty Positioning Flight)

Here's what's happened so far with the Jet2 sub leases to both Thomas Cook and now Thomson Airways
TCX700P/700L T/F Las Palmas = Operated by Boeing 757-200, G-LSAJ
TCX451P/451L T/F Fuerteventura = Operated by Boeing 757-200, G-LSAJ
TCX452P/452L T/F Fuerteventura = Operated by Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI
TOM133F/1333 T/F Cyprus-Paphos = Operated by Boeing 757-200, G-LSAA

As to whats operating the inbound TCX651L from Antalaya and the outbound TCX652P to Cardiff in the early hours of tomorrow morning well i haven't a clue but at a guess i would go for an Thomas Cook, Airbus A320 again.

Nice to see Jet 2 picking up all these sub leases. I'm sure this will help increase the popularity of the brand even if it is only with those being brought back from being stranded.

were all the flights scheduled to arrive at LBA, or are they using LBA as a central point for repatriation?

I think the latter. Many of the passengers are destined for airports such as Cardiff, Manchester, East Midlands and so on, so I think they're using LBA as a central point for repatriation. There might be an element of Jet2 insisting that their aircraft are returned back to LBA without further positioning flights.

The TOM1333 from Paphos was actually a Newcastle flight and was still showing on their Ceefax arrivals last night.

That will be the first time Leeds has had a flight to the Greek island of Kos since the demise of Sunseeker Leisure.

From what I can make out Kos is the only new destination but it's a very welcomed one at that. Hopefully we will see the gaps in the schedule filled in the second edition brochure.

Humberside we have had Fuerterventura now for some years out of LBA, operated by TCX and in the past the now defunct Spanish Airline LTE.

The Sunday flight by TCX has always been to Larnaca on the based aircraft and I cannot imagine them dropping it as a route, unless they do another deal to pub pax on a Jet2 freeing the aircraft up to go to Antalya again. Perhaps they are just keeping their options open and I am sure the 'gaps' will be filled in due course. I would for example, expect a Sharm el Sheikh.

It does look though as though flights to Rhodes and Crete may continue to be operated on a Jet2 aircraft as is the case in Summer 2010?

Rhodes is operated on a TCX a/c this year, when you search for holidays to RHO it says the holiday is not on sale yet so hopefully we will see it.

On a Saturday its probably doing a W pattern from/to PMI like this year, hence nothing scheduled out of LBA during the day.

No I do not think Aspro ever did Kos.

I am fairly sure Sunseekers were the first and last to do this destination from LBA in the mid 90's, at the time using a British Airways 737-300 that they had leased, still in full livery. I remember this well as on one occasion it got lost and descended out of the mist on final approach to runway 32 on a Sunday morning, very low, and directly over my house, which (being in Moseley Wood Green) was about 1 mile due East of the flight path. Fortunately it pulled up again before it landed in Moseley Wood Farm!! (I kid you not - I watched it happen and it made the papers at the time)

Sunseeker Holidays, in the summer of 1993, used B737.3Q8 in basic BA c/s with Sunjet titles and a "wavy red line" tail logo.

TCX, normally fly to MIR on a Sunday with their A320. I couldnt be 100% sure the 625K is this flight though.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
