Thomas Cook have now dropped all there planned flights to Monastir-Tunisia from LBA for this winter season. The service was planned to re-commence this weekend and run until Sunday April 24th.

Instead the based aircraft will operate a 2nd weekly Tenerife flight as a direct replacement.

Leeds/Bradford 07:00 - Tenerife 12:35
Tenerife 11:35 - Leeds/Bradford 17:00

Summer flights to Tunisia remain uneffected at this time with weekly Sunday departures to Enfidha due to commence on Sunday, May 1st.

The situation in Tunisia seems to have settled down, so hopefully they will not be affected. Since things are a little better in Egypt too, it does seem to indicate that perhaps Jet2 were a little hasty in cancelling both the Egypt and Tunisia flights, but that might be to Thomas Cooks advantage if anyone is determined to go to Enfindha.

Hi all

More bad news to report.

Thomas Cook Airlines/Holidays have now decided to drop there entire planned full summer schedule from LBA to Tunisia. The service was to operate to Enfidha every Sunday morning starting from May 1st.
The good news is that as a direct replacement the based Airbus A320 aircraft will now operate an extra 3rd weekly departure to Palma-Majorca instead.

TCX8032 = LBA 08:00 PMI 11:40
TCX8033 = PMI 12:40 LBA 14:30

Probably bookings have dropped so they have gone for a known winner. Commercial fact of life.

Can anyone tell me if TCX have been messing with their timings. In the summer 2011 charters forum, Wednesday's Cyprus flight is 0700 departure. My mother got her travel documents through recently and it says 0930 (i think). It definitely isn't 0700 though. she's wasn't too pleased. Even though It's only a couple of hours.

Thomas Cook website still shows the following flight details on its online holiday booking website, regarding the Wednesday Cyprus-Larnaca flight operated by the Leeds based A320 aircraft

I have just searched it comes up 0945 departure

Well i've just checked out both Thomas Cooks own Holidays website at http://www.thomascook.com and also its seat only website http://www.flythomascook.com Yet again for you and they are both still showing the following flight details for every Wednesday departure from Leeds to Cyprus-Lanarca this summer running from May until October.

Leeds/bradford Wed 27-07-11 at 07:00 Cyprus (Larnaca) Wed 03-08-11 at 14:40
Cyprus (Larnaca) Wed 27-07-11 at 13:40 Leeds/bradford Wed 03-08-11 at 17:40

Bigmac by chance i've just checked the jet2.com website http://www.jet2.com and they do have a Wednesday 09:45 departure to Cyprus-Larnaca on Wednesdays this summer also as well from LBA.

So are you sure your not flying on the Jet2 (LS465/LS466 service) which will be a Boeing 757-200 instead of the Thomas Cook (TCX8416/TCX8417 service) operated by the based Airbus A320?

Just thought I'll remind you all that the Thomas Cook, Airbus 320 aircraft is now fully based at LBA all week until the end off October (End off Summer 2011 season)

From today and running up until April 30th the based aircraft will operate the following 10x weekly programme of service's.

Mondays
TCX8048/8049 - T/F Gran Canaria - Las Palmas
Tuesday
TCX8314/8315 - T/F Tenerife - South
Wednesdays
TCX8572/8573 - T/F Turkey - Antalya
Thursdays
TCX8034/8035 - T/F Lanzarote - Arrecife
Fridays
TCX8014/8015 - T/F Tenerife - South
TCX8518/8519 - T/F Turkey - Dalaman
Saturdays
TCX8274/8275 - T/F Fuerteventura
TCX8534/8535 - T/F Turkey - Bodrum
Sundays
TCX8032/8033 - T/F Tenerife - South
TCX8654/8655 - T/F Turkey - Antalya

Now that TOM has withdrawn the SSH route - is there any possiblity that TCX will take it up? Im not sure whether an A320 is enough, although easyJet do it from MAN.

We had 3 arrivals on runway 14 last night around midnight. One of them was a Thomas Cook either B757-300 or maybe an Airbus A321 so our earlier poster was spot on.

I can confirm that Thomas Cook used A321, G-NIKO on Saturday nights delayed inbound service (Which Arrived LBA at 12:30) from Fuerteventura and then operated the outbound Bodrum service at 01:30. She also retruned back to LBA on Sunday Morning around 10:30 before positioning empty to Manchester

This was because A320, G-SUEW had gone tech down in Fuerteventura on Saturday afternoon but she re-positioned back to LBA on Sunday morning at around 02:30ish. And then operated the outbound to Tenerife on schedule.

Hi all,

does anyone know what equipment was used on the inbound TCX8275 from FUE? Im sure from where I was in Guiseley, that it was bigger than the normal A320, although I could be wrong.

Regards,
Tom

I saw the Bodrum flight take off around 1815 tonight and it was Airbus A320 G-SUEW so I suspect thats what operated the inbound flight too.

There is an aircraft due to arrive from MAN at 0810am as TCX2108, and then, I think, the based aircraft is heading down to LGW as TCX857P at 9am - exactly the same time as the schedueled TCX2108 flight to Larnaca.

Any Idea's anyone?

2x Thomas Cooks at LBA tomorrow.

The LBA based Airbus A320 will operate the positioning TCX857P flight tomorrow moning to London Gatwick. She will then fly from Gatwick to Antalya before returning to LBA with a Pax later tomorrow on the last inbound of there planned winter 2010/11 charters. The reason for this is so that the aircraft dose not go out empty from LBA down to Turkey.

The aircraft that positions in from Manchester as TCX2108 will operate as a split to Cyprus-Larnaca as this is the first planned summer 2011 outbound charter. This aircraft will not return to Leeds but instead position back into Manchester tomorrow evening.

Working Patterns
Aircraft 1 = Leeds-Gatwick, Gatwick-Antalya - Antalya-Leeds
Aircraft 2 = Manchester-Leeds-Larnaca - Larnaca-Manchester

Hope that helps.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
