Not rumours anymore. Don't just book it....because they aren't there anymore. I wonder what will happen with the Nouvelair flight tomorrow evening? Do we have any other flights that will need repatriating?

As far as LBA is concerned, the failure of Thomas Cook is almost a blessing in disguise, in that their LBA operation was minimal so there is less of a downturn to bear. Still a grim time for air travel and leaving just two major UK tour operators. What a difference from twenty or thirty years ago.

Another consideration is for AirTanker who damp-leased two or three A330s to TCX. I expect these aircraft will be back at Brize Norton fairly quickly and hopefully have new lessees lined up, providing AT doesn't already have other plans for them.

What a ridiculous statement almost a blessing in disguise. It's tough for all concerned it affects so many people, as for the airport any lost flights are bad news

Really sad day for everyone involved in the Thomas Cook Group. The UK civil aviation scene has just lost an inconic tour holiday brand. I wish everyone involved good look...

Tomorrow's Nouvelair charter from Enfidha into Leeds is still showing as been operated. Will this continue?

On another note.
I wonder what the UK tour operator "Santa Lapland Holidays" will do regards the 3x charter flights that Thomas Cook Airlines were due to operate from LBA in December 2019?

I think those flights were operated by Enter Air, if not I presume they`ll find some other operator

I think all the remaining tour operators will do well out of this, but particularly Jet2. If they are involved in repatriation then you would think this would build immediate trust in the pax they carry, and lead to them booking with Jet2 in the future. However, the down side is that some people's faith in tour operators will be impacted negatively.

Nah Enter Air operate flights to Lapland on behalf of Transun & Canterbury Travel.
The tour operator "Santa's Lapland" used Thomas Cook last year and are due to use them again this year. But like you say I agree that they will now have to find an alternative operator.

Jet2 Holidays are going to pick up so much business from the TC collapse especially in the North West as they had a fairly big operation there I think.....Do you think we could see some A330's in Jet2 livery going over the pond to Cancun and Florida after Brexit is sorted out?
Imaging BHX, MAN, and EDI would be good starters for them.

Interesting re the A330`s..those of Air Tanker, which are based at RAF Brize Norton, are part of the RAF reserve fleet and although used by Jet2 and were by Thomas Cook, it would be interesting to know if they could be deployed abroad to foreign operators by AT, under the PFI deal......or can they be used only by UK operators..If the latter maybe room for some serious manoevre by Jet2...one to watch I think

German operator Condor and Thomas Cook in the UK each operate 1x A330 leased from Air Tanker. The other 2x are as we know with Jet2.

I see all the A320/321s Thomas Cook Airlines leased from Avion Express & Smart Lynx this summer are now operating repatriation flights using Titan Airways Flight numbers/code.

I hope we wont see any Jet2 aircraft going over the pond.
If it is there plan, MOL last week was livid TC still allowed to trade when basically bankrupt, one of the next two airlines he thinks will fold will give Jet2 an ease entry into the States long haul market.
Sad for the staff, however, the working week is always reducing, when I first started work it was a 5.5 day week, 50 hour week with two weeks holiday, today Labour want to reduce to 30 hours, more leisure time and obviously more people needed in this industry, every day I see another leisure operation opening, whilst Wall Jumping does not rock my boat, my son goes all over the world Wall Climbing and thousands seem to do it.
Thankfully TC failure is of a company who would not change and thought it good enough to offer more of the same, not good enough today, a friend in the travel business feels AI days are numbered, thing always change, standing still is dangerous for your future.
The huge changes TUI are making were impossible for TC to follow, although a great success, TC had a £2 billion debt, with no capital to make the changes the business needed, now Fosun and others can build a sustainable future.

Enter enter air! Or our own Yorkshire airline. I read an article about enter air in the airliners world. Such an Interesting company.

If you don’t laugh you’ll cry. Such a devastating day for the industry.

Looks like tour operator Santa's Lapland has started to make efforts to re-arrange alternative flights, they have released a statement to customers on its website. https://www.santaslapland.com/travel-information/thomas-cook/

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
