Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Am I being unduly worried that this, however small a set of amendments it is, could delay the start of the new extension knowing LCC who could reject the changes.
It's not a Planning Application, it's notification of minor alterations, that are not classified as material , so it shouldn't cause any problems. They are required to notify the Planning Department but it shouldn't need to go anywhere near the Plans Panel and they're the people to be worried about these days .

ha I will have to have a word with them. I personally remember this is as ‘non’ on its own is not really a word in English, it only ever acts as a prefix to a noun or an adjective to create an opposite. Anyway back to the topic, hopefully plans will pass without delay, and we can see a start to the works😀

When do we think the plans and visuals will be released for the world to see? Looking forward to seeing what the new extension will look like, and hopefully a fly though video etc
No date given, but I would guess there will be some publicity and fly-through videos once the contractor is confirmed and a start on site imminent.

Genuine question, I'm not trying to be pedantic here but is there a given month when this might happen?

No month was given for publicity or the video. I was just told that there would be one and that it was being worked on, along with displays for the terminal.

As I mentioned after the last Committee Meeting, the expectation was that the contractor would start in site sometime in September, although initially that's likely to be setting up a compound etc.

One thing I wish they would also focus on along with the development of the terminal, is a general tidy up of the apron airside particularly at the head of aircraft stands. I work at the airport on the ramp and there are equipment bays at the top of every stand where Jet2 and swissport park up all their equipment such as aircraft steps, GPU’s, beltloaders etc. In hindsight, you would think it was a good thing with equipment not being that far away, however, I’ve never seen an airport look as cluttered and unprofessional airside. You could be working on a Jet2 flight and have passengers walking past random swissport equipment that is parked up on that same stand not even being used just because that is where there was free space for them to park. Not to mention how overcrowded and awkward it is when working on a flight due to the already little room to manoeuvre, especially when catering, fuelers and PRM’s are all present. I know it is currently tight for space as it is but just like other airports, they should have specific parking bays for aircraft steps, beltloaders and GPU’s away from aircraft stands and the already existing equipment bays solely used for the equipment that is specifically being used for that flight on stand at that time. It also makes it awkward for road traffic such as the big fuelling trucks and caterers to turn onto stands when there are huge steps and other equipment that is not being used.

Hello a2b1066 and welcome to the forum.
Thank you for your contribution. It's always good to hear from those who work at an airport as well as the enthusiasts.

If my FR24 is to be relied upon the Ryanair was held in the loop from 15:32 to 14:45 which is significant when you consider the short amount of time they expect for turnarounds.

Only joking, but either that's a 24.13hr hold or you've transposed the times? 🤔

In the winter, when Jet2 are less busy it's not uncommon for up to three aircraft to be parked on taxiways. This has been the case for several years and it's a poor image in anybody's book.

Not to mention the lack of light on remote stands. There's a reason why the ramp has stadium style lighting.

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
