I was wondering the same. I'm dreading using it now although I'm sure it can only make things better once complete.
But we are talking about LCC here 😂
On a serious note though i do feel that because the junction is so huge now with 2 lanes heading off in each direction it possibly might ease traffic queues, but we shall see!

Ridiculous that travelling from Harrogate you have to go all the way into Leeds and then back out to LBA up the A65. NW Leeds cops for multiple races and road closures every year, often making LBA inaccessible from the NE. It's time these races, which are very worthwhile, were shared around and not impacting LBA as often.

I agree but usually Sat Navs will find a better way. An example from Harrogate will be via Harlow Carr then Otley.

Why couldnt they schedule them for Winter?
Disconnecting Leeds, what more can you expect. Also worth noting is that resurfacing work is also taking place around the same time from the 18th May in Guiseley from 19:00 to 23:00 which is on one of the diversion routes suggested by LBA.

I would do Harrogate, Otley, Menston up onto the Chevin….

It’s looking like Transdev (Flyer Buses) may lost the Airport Contract from next year.
As the new Weever Franchise Network Trench 1 (Tire 2) contract for the Airport services has been awarded to Tower Transit.
Never heard of them.

Who?

Ah, that's who. Tower Transit are part of Australian company, Kelsian and specialise in franchise bus services. They previously operated in London but eventually ceased London operations. They now operate in Jersey and Liverpool.

No doubt the buses they use will be adorned in the awful Weaver livery which makes buses look as though they have fitted the front off another bus, but at least all the buses will look as bad as each other. An opportunity to design a really good livery wasted.

Tower Transit are Aussie owned company. They currently operate franchised bus services in Liverpool & Jersey and were an ex London operator until last year.

As a Tire 2 network operator, Tower Transit will have to supply there own vehicles.

We've a much better idea for the livery! 🤣

I doubt whether Transdev will be too fussed as they were awarded the major franchise for North Kirklees (Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike-the Heavy Woolen District) currently served by Arriva.
As regard the airport services it will be interesting to see if there will be any changes in routes, frequency or pick up patterns. Under franchising any such changes will be made by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, not the bus operator.
Knowing “our Tracey” buses will be replaced by electric bikes!

The first new build Double deck Electroliners have started to roll off the production line at wrightbus in Northern Ireland. Some of these vehicles will have to under go testing doing about 500 road miles before deliveries can start to begin.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
