Leeds Bradford: Wizz Air Flights, New Routes & Schedule Updates

Wizz will have data from previous seasons about which routes perform best, not just in terms of how full flights are, but what yields are like on certain routes. Also worth considering that due to the distance of the flights, it may not have been route A vs route B, but routes A&C vs route B...

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

Worth remembering that Avanti will operate the HS2 trains services and that the vast majority of current WCML services will switch over to HS2. If Avanti make the HS2 services too expensive all it will do is push their customers to their competitors. I imagine there will be a premium charged...

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

Ah my bad. The one that's a walk away used to be 30 minutes free when it first opened. Don't even remember it being reduced to 20 minutes but then again I haven't used it since before covid. I've personally never had to queue to get out of either premium drop off or free drop off. With the...

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

10 minutes is more than enough time to drop someone off, even if its a large family with big suitcases. The irony is that one of the drivers in the article complains about there being queues to exit the car park and with the free period reduced to 10 minutes there won't be enough time to exit...

    Edinburgh: Infrastructure & Construction Updates

Firstly, I didn't say it was a waste of money or would have zero benefit. Just that for only 4% of Edinburgh's passenger throughput, perhaps there are better things to spend £3m on. Secondly, if PBC is so fantastic for securing new routes to the US, then there would be more than 3 airports...

    Edinburgh: Infrastructure & Construction Updates

In terms of numbers Gatwick handles about 2-3 times as many US passengers as Edinburgh. Manchester also handles 40% more than Edinburgh. On a passengers per route basis, Gatwick and Manchester have roughly the same, whilst Edinburgh is about half of LGW/MAN. PBC these days isn't as big a thing...

Birmingham: Upcoming Flights & Passenger Travel Plans

Pretty awesome to see that beside the flight you were on, there was another easyJet taxiing out with another 3 on stand.

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

Just out of interest, are you booking flights very, very last minute or deciding to drive to the airport only on the day? Turn up rates are always going to be more expensive than booking in advance. A quick look on BHXs own website has 5 days (4 nights) parking, booked 10 days out at prices...

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

Given the Link runs straight through the HS2/Arden Cross Triangle, I sadly doubt it will. Where the link crossed the Chester Road (A452) will be roughly where the multi-storey car park will be.

Edinburgh: New Route Development & Rumours

As you say, US passport holders still have to clear immigration, however many US citizens have Global Entry which is expedited vs "regular" passengers. The only UK airport that has the passenger levels and finances to justify PBC IMHO is Heathrow. However its a logistical nightmare as 6...

Leeds Bradford: Wizz Air Flights, New Routes & Schedule Updates

Late evening departures from the UK are pretty standard for Wizz - I know both BHX and LGW have them a lot - wouldn‘t expect to see them change times significantly.

🅿️ Parking & Transport: Birmingham airport (BHX)

Will interchange with Crossrail with an onwards journey time to Heathrow of 15 minutes. Via HS2 and Crossrail, central Birmingham will be about an hour from Heathrow by rail, whereas the Interchange station will be about 50 minutes.

London Gatwick: New Route Development & Rumours

If this does take off (pardon the pun), I'm pretty much expecting Norwegian in all but name tbh. Will probably even make use of ex Norwegian 787's

Manchester: Aer Lingus Flight Status, Hub News & Discussion

It's a cop out excuse tbh - if MAN is too leisure oriented, what are they doing at Gatwick?

London Gatwick: General Airport Discussions & Updates

If the lockdown continues for longer than a couple of months (fully expecting it to last for 3 months at least IMO), I suspect most UK airports will close. I can see a situation where the following airports remain open: - Heathrow serving general passengers and cargo (short haul repatriation...
