My understanding is that it would work like pier B at Stansted with several gates able to access an additional level / corridor that links to the domestic channel.
It was always planned that pier 3 was where domestics would connect to the dedicated domestics arrival route.
When pier 3 got "postponed" the biometric solution was chosen, when the issues were identified the new solution under construction is basically a hybrid of what was originally planned...
I believe uber have massively and I mean massively outbid streetcars to become the preferred private hire operator.
£85 Million was mentioned but unsure if that includes STN too.
This was always only ever a typical IAG spoiler to stop Virgin getting a decent foothold.
Covid did that for them, so the stagnation was inevitable.
This could have worked so much better as a Level style operation and a dohop partnership giving easyjet and jet 2 feed on the MAN side and a US...
Totally agree but IAG came to stop VS neither has the same appetite post covid and there are unserved routes that even in these uncertain times could easily wash their face and norse product is a much closer match to TCX than VS or EI throw in some tui (maybe jet2) long distance and maybe it can...
With the EIUK debacle ongoing and the public airing of dirty laundry Norse could just be a big part of the solution they are doing a lot of marketing on the BKK launch and could capitalise on the growing brand recognition.
Not at all, I'm saying that this thread is to discuss Manchester, your comment that a new airline wouldn't be good news for MAN as you dont want to drive to MAN was simply misplaced, that's all.
Bussing seems likely while they work on pier B internally but eventually it will be restored as a walking link from T3 (like the tipperary lounge was originally).
I suspect thats the idea, the current plan seems to be:
old T1 Pier C will be partitioned from the "old t1" and used as a satellite pier for T2 with passengers bussed to it but some facilities inside WC, WH Smiths etc and a mini refresh / refurb to reflect the other piers at T2 (signage, etc)...
But with a bit of effort they could be doing MUCH better.
Where is the codeshare with Loganair to feed the routes, why aren't they on dohop to get feed from easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair and others.
And lets not even start on the OW family that should be at the party
