Etihad will increase Manchester to 18 weekly next March. The extra 4 flights will run in the afternoon, and a time change will happen to the EY21/22 flights.

Due to be confirmed soon.

Etihad will maintain 2 daily B77W this winter. Was previously due to be 1 A330 and 1 B77W on each flight.

Etihad will now use the A340-600 on the EY21/22 flight from 2nd November.

MAN has certainly been blessed for scheduled A346 flights this year!

Is Etihad 3-class out of MAN?

I wouldn't put it past them to start A380 flights before the turn of the decade?

Etihad is current,y selling First class on the Evening flights while the A340-600 is being used.

I've seen a tweet (from Etihad) to the effect that they would like to run an A380 to MAN.

No indication on whether this would be a one-off or regular scheduled service or how or when any of this would happen. May also be a social media guy/gal giving generic positive "vibe" which is ultimately without substance.

Etihad used the A340-600 on both flights today.

A6-EHH ran the EY15/16 and A6-EHK will run the EY21/22 tonight.

Etihad to use all B77W service to MAN in S16, replacing the A332. Schedule otherwise remains the same.

Etihad, Emirates and Qatar have all either announced or implemented capacity increases over the past month or two. We await frequency changes in due course...

Link to interview with Etihads GM for the UK and Ireland.

Some comments in the interview of note. The North west (presumably this means MAN in context) is one of Etihads top 10 popular destinations in 2015. Exactly what this means is not clear but it is certain to mean the route is successful.

Most popular destinations (I assume for PAX originating at MAN) are the UAE, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, and a number of unspecified cities across India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

No comment on a further upgrade to 3x daily or the introduction of an A380 service which have been speculated about.

Must be about time for some news from Etihad?

We can take a look at the numbers when the Feb stats are out, but from recollection they were doing rather well...

Assuming Etihad used the two class B77W on all flights in March (I don't know if anyone can confirm?) the load factor was between 84-91% (depending on which version is used).

If these loads are sustained over a decent time period, Etihad will either need to surrender market share to (most likely Qatar, Emirates or possibly Turkish) or make a change.

Possibly something to look out for in 2017?

It does look as if March got a boost from the Easter holidays but it was a good month for Etihad.
What's interesting about the ME3 is that they don't seem to vary frequencies on a season basis. Once they put on a third flight say, it's year-round even though LF s do vary quite significantly. From memory, May tends to be a quieter month.

As it happens, it's QR making the next move with an extra 2 x weekly flights, yet their LF in March was almost certainly lower than EK or EY with the mix of a/c used. For example, on the B788, the average load of 226 would be 89%, while on the high density B77W it would only be 55%. The A332 would be 87% and the A333 74%.

Interesting - assume they are not selling F?

EDIT: I decided to stop being lazy and looked for myself! F is not being sold on the EY website (marked as sold out).

I have found it is the afternoon arrival/evening departure.

Great news so it is upgauged from the 332 this winter from Feb.

I think they have some two class 789s?

In what way is a capacity cut from a 77w with up to 412 seats down via a 332 with 262 in just a few months then further down to a 789 with just 227 plus 8 blocked first seats considered an upgauge ?

Oh and the associated reduction in cargo space as well !

Nice change from a spotter point of view through.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
