Blue Islands would obviously need more aircraft if they were to take on all of Flybe's CI network. It's probably unlikely.

Another BRS cancellation today, the evening bmi regional Dusseldorf, although the morning DUS rotation operated.

Friday 5 August 2016

Long delay on WOW flight WW 810 from Keflavik due 1010. Latest arrival time estimate is 1830.

I've just realised that WOW's IATA code is the one that bmi baby used.

Friday 12 August 2016

Long delay this Friday too. WOW from Keflavik arrived 1945 hours, 9 hours and 35 minutes late.

I don't why but it appears that the KLM night stopper (E190 PH-EZE) has been diverted to CWL as it is showing up on FR24 as on the ground there.

Odd that although FR24 can sometimes throw up some anomalies.

The BRS website shows KL 1057 due 2115 as landing at 2112, and FR24 shows the same flight landing at 2111 operated by E190, PH-EZE.

bmi regional BM 1837 and 1838 to/from Hamburg this evening was cancelled.

there is nothing on the cwl forum pages to say it landed in cwl. so I would say what local says about landing in brs is correct.

FR24 shows the overnight KLM stopper which has a scheduled return to AMS as KL 1046 at 0620 the following morning departed BRS this morning at 0637 using PH-EZE.

It must have been a FR24 anomaly as it has shown it as landed! Sorry I should've researched more before posting!

Tuesday 13 September 2016

bmi regional BM1837 (dep 1650) and return BM1838 (due 2035) to/from Hamburg - both sectors cancelled.

BRS website also shows inbound Brussels Airlines (op by bmi regional) SN2057 from Brussels due 1700 cancelled.

However, all three outbounds shown as operated as well as the other two inbounds.

I was looking at fr24 last night and the brussels flight landed.it came in with a normal flight number,so would say there was pax on board.
I cant comment on the other rotations.

Thanks superking. The airport website arrivals/departures pages are not always one hundred per cent accurate which is not really acceptable..

Then again, FR24 is a different animal and has different objectives to an airport website, hence the way it is set up means it can never be completely reliable.

Thursday 15 September 2016

BRS got off reasonably lightly today following the French ATC strike. The following rotations were cancelled:

Ryanair - Bergerac
easyJet - Paris CDG
bmi regional - morning Paris CDG

Wednesday 28 October 2016

easyJet Berlin Schoenfeld
rotation shown as cancelled today. Checking the SXF website doesn't throw up any obvious problems - all other flights operated so far as I can see.

I guess you mean 28 September

The winter schedule begins on 1st oct. apparently the arrivals figures are cut in half on 1st Oct.

ha ha it hits us all in time lol.

Anticipation! I've read the runes.

The winter programme usually starts at the end of October/beginning of November.

Looking at next week's Mayfly there are 99 arrivals shown for Monday and 102 for Friday for instance, not much less than peak summer. I haven't included the Airbus and BAE shuttles in these numbers or in any of the rotation numbers I mention in this post.

January is invariably the worst month for passenger numbers and rotations. In mid-January 2015 there were 52 arrivals, whereas in early December 2015 there were 67.

Bristol, like most regional airports, sees a disproportionate number of flights and passenger numbers in winter compared with summer, although in the past year or two BRS is gradually improving in winter with the coming winter set to continue the improvement.

Putting passenger numbers alongside the rotations I mentioned in January 2015 and December 2015, January saw 361,000 passengers and December 413,000 (November 412,000). Contrast this with August 2015 that saw 776,000.

2016 is showing an improvement on these figures with January showing 408,000 and August 846,000 which is the airport's figure and which will undoubtedly increase by several thousand in the CAA stats when they are eventually published.*

With Ryanair increasing its rotations by 25% and easyJet also showing additional flights this winter should eclipse last winter quite noticeably.

* For those who might be unaware BRS does not include every type of passenger in its own stats, under 2s for example are not counted.

Some of us prefer the quieter winter times. Summer can be unbearable for some staff with passenger numbers way too high for the facilities that are available. If winters catch up with summers.....the stress levels are just too much. As with facilities, the airport and swissport the ground handlers have staffed the place with bare minimum required. Its all about profit. Even in the peaks there is shortage of loaders, bus drivers, check in staff, catering staff, border force etc etc.

sorry about my comment ly but I thought it was only me with senior moments.
No apologies needed. I have these senior moments all the time. My wife will tell you that.:jimlad:

I can't see winter ever becoming anywhere near as busy as summer.

You wonder what sort of service level agreements the airlines have with their ground handlers and what influence, if any, the airport has on this because most people blame the airport when things go awry: same with the Border Agency - they decide the number of staff.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
