EI-DVH an Aer Lingus A320 operating EI749 Bilbao to Dublin diverted into Cardiff due to high winds at Dublin.

What's the issue with BRS? One EZY flight diverted to CWL and other aircraft circling.

Unconfirmed report saying that the runway is damaged - hence diversions / holding.

Does anyone know why all 4 based TUIs diverted overnight?

Presumably it’s due to the weather (fog) given the shift in day/night temperatures.

G-VRAY a Virgin Atlantic A330 300 operating VS130 Tampa to London Heathrow has diverted in. Communications failure apparently.

With diversions if you lived in Cardiff or South Wales are you allowed to get off? Lol

Maybe if you had hand luggage and asked nicely?

Though someone has said on X that the crew have about an hour left until they time out. There's an engineer onboard now.

It depends on the captain. The answer is normally no, I assume because of paperwork. There may also be deeper bureaucratic reasons why it is not possible. Heartbreaking when you see your airport slipping away and you know your flight back there won’t arrive for another 7 hours.

Another diversion today
Ryanair 737 800 operating FR3976 Barcelona to Dublin. Medical i believe.

Lockheed Hercules C130 took off from CWL yesterday, got as far as level with the West Coast of Ireland, and had to turn back. Cabin depressurisation fault apparently. Landed OK. It was the number 1 most tracked flight on FR24 at one point, with over 3000 viewers watching live progress

A few diverts heading into CWL from BRS due to an overhead airfield storm, mainly Ryanair’s

I expect there may be some diversions this evening as LHR have suspended southern runway operations due to a grass fire - the CAA have enacted diversions from LHR as a result.

*update; it’s reopened now, however the flow rate has been reduced - curfew extended to 23:59

Three diversions into CWL this evening, some kind of emergency at BRS with all flights cancelled. Loganair from Jersey and Aberdeen, and Aer Lingus Regional from Cork maybe more to come.

TUI en route to CWL, BRS diversion, in from Zante.

Runway is closed until tomorrow

With the NATS outage taking its toll on major airports across the UK and Ireland, and with no apparent resolution until circa 9pm, I expect CWL may see some diverts this afternoon / evening 👀

Also it's possible there'll be some cancellations and delays

KLM have cancelled the 17.15 departure.

British Airways B789 GZBDK is apparently coming into CWL shortly

It managed to escape LHR during this outage, bound for PVG, however experienced a cracked windscreen over Romania - and now returning the UK

VS26 from JFK just about to land too (19:20)

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
