It would have had an impact so close to the extension !

Long walk way with lack of seating, unless you use lounges(cost?), no consideration for elderly etc. Currently at least 'some' welcomed seats to T2. Summer 2026 completion? I'll hold my breath😔

Noticed the divided glass walkway on the left there after the new duty free - is that a corridor coming from Euro hub check in? I read they have opened two security lanes somewhere in eurohub so I guess this must be from there?

don’t worry, they’ll put a metal rail along the base of the wall, about six inches off the floor. Passengers can sit on that if they’re tired.

If we’re really lucky we might get a row of four seats about halfway down the corridor 😉

No chance you would miss the opportunity to visit the new retail opportunities to spend your hard earned dosh at inflated prices as you glide by. Personally I tend to use airports as a means to travel not as a shopping expedition but that's just me.😉

We are flying from Birmingham with TUI soon for the first time since the major building works. We will use the twilight check in the evening before and stay in a hotel overnight.

My partner really doesn't like lifts. Could someone please explain how we can get to security without using the lifts in the morning?

If you are able there is a doorway to the left of the lifts which has stairs up to the first floor. Last time I was there the signage wasn't exactly obvious but we've used them a couple of times.

That said, the 'lifts' aren't your typical dodgy back street car park kind that shake their way up a floor or two. They are huge, easily fitting 30 odd people. My mother in law similarly dislikes lifts, but has no issues in them whatsoever. They ultimately only move 1 floor, and its all over in seconds.

Is there area known for car incidents or collisions? Has their been any injuries or deaths? Is the area know for high traffic speeds or speeding?

No however it’s just as bad in Birmingham.Things are worsening mate.People who pay extortionate taxes on the road basically waste there tax on new tyres.You think it’s bad,Normal? Especially near a main airport

Thanks. Found the stairs to the side of the lifts and used them. Great as there were queues for the lifts so quicker as well.
Did have a walk down to Jet2 check in area evening before (twilight check in with TUI and stayed in Novotel) and stairs / escalator barriered off.

The new Aspire Luxe and Suite lounge has opened on the walkway to gates 1-20. I must say it looks very nice indeed
