A walk down memory lane when the old French Aviation Caravelles used to fly in for the French rugby charters back in the day. I can't quite remember which airlines flew in with this aircraft but they were very distinctive and always good to see them. They used to fly them from places like Toulouse and possibly Lyon.

Unfortunately all we'll see is A320 family and 737s i expect. I don't think there's any wide bodies scheduled this year.

I have from my personal logs,Caravelles of Aero Tour , Minerve, Air Toulouse, Air Inter, Air Charter International and Euralair.

Thanks for posting these. I remember JAT flying from CWL to former Yugoslavia during the summer months to Pula, Split and Dubrovnik and I think it was Aviogenex that carried on that route with 737s and 727s up until the war and eventual break up of Yugoslavia.

EM I remember Aviogenex using a TU104 from CWL to Yugoslavia it must have been in the late sixtees, if I remember correctly.

Interesting that they say 62 when I'm sure i counted 75.

We counted 76 in total (12 x AF + 62 x Charters + 2 x Team Flights), alongside another 46 positioning flights.

A grand total of 122 additional movements between Friday and Monday, not including the smaller business charters handled by Global Trek on the south side of course.

Perhaps CWL quoted "62 additional" flights as referring to the charters besides the 12 Air France flights they mentioned in a separate accompanying post?

Yep it does seem they haven't included the Air France flights.

Stark difference this weekend between the French game and Scotland game.
8 flights in all to/from Edinburgh. An extra 392 passengers based on a 49 seat E145

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
