And is why LS control their frequency accordingly. They work with yields whereas FR probably accept more in the way of on board sales. Either way it works for the respective airlines so all is good. Half term upcoming and flights will be full. Then not far off spring.....

Thats a terrible load factor.
Yes i was pretty surprised myself by the load factor, only one bus of pax to the plane and that was only half full! Thankfully straight onto the plane as it was blowing a gale and heavy rain, A nice quiet relaxing flight with no trash onboard, hit lucky with weather in ALC this week as its to be 20-25c all week!

Currently sat on FR2661 to alicante, only around 60 pax onboard and used gate 1 so was a little worried at one point the flight was cancelled 😂 bus to plane.
An 8pm Saturday night flight to ALC in Feb isn’t going to be full though is it, again FR will be well aware and I’m sure looking at them being bigger then LS for ALC in summer are not worried, FR are definitely doing something right!

Enjoy your trip!

Arrived back to LBA from ALC on FR5660, aircraft was around 90percent full. Must say it was probably the smoothest touchdown I've experienced at LBA and he made the turnoff onto the old runway intersection!

Just booked EasyJet Barcelona LBA 16th September. Travel lite so £120 pp which is not bad. I could have travelled from Porto back to Leeds but 7.15am departure which I didn’t fancy so Ryanair Porto Barcelona 3pm so have a bit more time in Porto. Good to support our route just a shame two departures per week

I flew LBA-BHD this afternoon on the midday flight. Couldn’t see anything new in security or in the departures area. 59 got off the inbound from BHD and there were 39 on board my flight. 50mins and a cracking view of IOM airport on the way over. I’m back Monday evening and my first arrival into LBA on a domestic flight since the extension opened so will report if anything is different.

The new domestic carousel will be the sixth belt when it becomes available. It will be located close to where the duty free used to be when it was on the ground floor many moons ago.

Just booked a short trip to PMI with Ryanair (Lauda) in the middle of this month. I think that this is quickest I will have flown, after booking. Late flight going out, early flight coming back. Good job I can walk from airport to accommodation.

It shouldn’t be regarded as “normal” in my opinion.
Be better than the competition by being better than the norm. Set your sights higher and attract new customers.
This kind of “it’ll do” attitude in business does my head in. You see it everywhere.
Just my opinion right enough.

I appreciate what your saying but a queue to hall A really isn't very long. Like any business there are times when the airport won't have the staff to have all the scanners open. At this time of the year the airport is usually still in the process of training new employees up for the busy summer months.

During the current building work I think people need to make 'allowances'. However I have stated several times in the past that Leeds needs to strive to be just a little better than its competitors. Smaller businesses are easier to control and being a little better shouldnt be hard. Most top rated airports in the past have been small ones, even including Doncaster at one time.

Historically, the highest-rated airports have often been the quietest ones.

Between 2010 and 2015, the top spot was shared by Cardiff and Doncaster, with Doncaster reclaiming the position in 2019.

While queueing times appear to be the sole metric for determining the so-called "best airport," passengers consider a far wider range of variables when judging their experience.

Funny though that the 'best' airports are the two that are being bailed out by respective Governments, one to keep it open and the other to reopen it 5 years after it closed. That tells you all you need to know. The best airports are often the least attractive to airlines, therefore the quietest in terms of passenger numbers, and therefore the least stressful. In my opinion, it's how stressful an airport is that determines popularity. Long queues, expensive food, insufficient seating and overcrowding raise stress levels. Rattling around in a terminal that only has a few flights makes it easy to keep the punters happy, but rarely ends well for the airport operator.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
