Wizz air increases Birmingham to Bucharest to 5 weekly for April and May at the moment.

Also a change in times aswell

Arrival from Bucharest 8.35am
Departure to Bucharest 9.30am

BHX-FCO also increases from 3x weekly to 4x weekly from end of March to Early August with a Sunday flight being added.

I wonder what Wizz sees in Romania vs Poland. Maybe less competition? I see Wizz's LGW-WAW hasn't lasted long for example.

• Krakow: EasyJet, Jet2, Ryanair
• Lodz: Ryanair
• Poznan: Ryanair
• Warwas: Ryanair
• Bydgoszcz: Ryanair
• Gdansk (Seasonal): Jet 2

Romania

• Bucharest: Ryanair, Wizzair
• Craiova: Wizzair
• Sibiu: Wizzair
• Suceava: Wizzair
• Timisoara: Wizzair

At present, bar Bucharest, Wizzair have complete monopoly on Romania and fly to 4 routes with zero competition. Ryanair has great coverage of Poland from BHX and i suspect Wizz just doesnt have the apatite to nudge in to compete when it has monopoly of Romania.

That said, Wizz or Ryanair, it would be good to have new routes/additional capacity to:

Poland

• Warsaw WAW
• Gdansk GDN
• Wroclaw WRO
• Rzeszów RZE

Romania

• Cluj CLJ
• Lasi IAS
• Bacau BCM

WAW and WRO have been rumoured but both have seen new destinations added which haven't included Birmingham.

I'm hoping we're on the list and just waiting for our turn.

Wizz have clarified today that their application for USA routes are solely to operate charters for the World Cup and have stated no intention to start scheduled services..
