Ryanair - Agadir
EasyJet - Amsterdam & Alicante
Sun Express - Dalaman
Pegasus - Istanbul

Then the trans Atlantic
Toronto - Play/Air Transatl/Jet2 codeshare deal
I will add Loganair to Aberdeen and Southampton.

Aer Lingus Regional to Cork which apparently is expanding due to the passenger cap impact at Dublin.

Like the Sun Express Dalaman option as TUi would probably use it too. Might explain why the Dalaman flights are not on sale yet with TUi.

All those already mentioned plus:
No wind
No fog/low cloud
Oh........and a new alarm clock!

Seriously a good chance some if not all those routes already mentioned may just happen (not the long haul) although APD increases may also put a small spanner in the works.

Either way still a very bright future for LBA

Serves me right for raising the subject in the pub yesterday. I will pretty much go with what you said

This is a good list but don’t Jet2 already fly to split from LBA?

Rather then prediction I'm going to put a realistic wish list:

Aer Lingus - Even though they've got idiots in charge of the aviation policy in DUB - A320 on a service.
Loganair - Heathrow via BA codeshare
Jet2 - Marrakesh. Announcement of A321 for S27 (2 if not 3 based units).
Ryanair - 4th based unit announced for S26. Agadir, Las Palmas and more cities.
easyJet - Further growth from team orange, Alicante, Amsterdam, Milan.
Sun express - Dalaman or Izmir.
Wizz Air - Further growth from them with new destinations.

Further afield -
Icelandair - Reykjavik on their 737Max 8's as their A321's displace the Max's. I know the A321 are to replace the 757 but there is some room for growth. Icelandair would prove fantastic option for the US connections.
Turkish Airlines - We know I bang this drum every time it's mentioned. But they are the best to serve the Middle East and onwards
US - UA/LBA flirting to try gain a EWR link.

And finally; Galba to loose any appeal; everything to be granted. And this labour government to realise and unlock the economic potential of aviation for an island nation.

I’d like to get Pegasus on board, they are expanding like crazy in the UK and would probably do the same at LBA. Look at BHX for example, started with a 3 weekly A320, now a year on they are introducing a second route to Antalya.
I'm sure we all would, including LBA who I know have tried to get them into LBA already with no success (although they did fly charters here about 20 years ago!). The problem once again is they already operate from MAN so didn't see a need to come here and now they've lost the initiative to Sun Express which they may come to regret.

My Wishlist

Jet2 –
Sharm el Sheikh and Lisbon.
Ryanair – Vienna, Milan, Rhodes, Corfu and Bologna.
easyJet - Amsterdam, Berlin and Munich
Sun Express - Izmir.
Wizz Air – Budapest, Tirana and Sofia.
Ajet (Turkish Airlines Low-Cost Subsidiary) - Istanbul. I think they will test the waters first.
Play Airlines – Keflavik.
Eurowings - Dusseldorf.
Norwegian Air Shuttle - Oslo.

It is bizarre i find how LBA seems to just be ignored when it comes to securing the lets say more prestige routes and carriers, ok i agree the airport is doing great, in fact much better than most other airports in terms of year on year growth in pax figures but its always down to our usual bucket and spade routes from mainly our existing carriers. I really hope LBAs REGEN program is a turning point that takes us upto the next level, im sure it will, i for one am looking forwards to 2025 as i think big things are to come plus we have seen some early signs already the airlines are showing interest. Once the regen program is up and running i do feel runway improvements should be looked at, it is an obstacle that needs to be addressed.
Regards what id like to see for 2025 at LBA inc..
Turkish or pegasus - Istanbul
Easyjet - Alicante (ideal for myself)
Plus some new routes not
Already served.
SunExpress - extra antalya flights
Plus 1 or 2 other routes
1 more based ryanair aircraft at the
Airport as we do rank quite low
Compared to other airports and of
Course more from jet2.

Loganair base - LHR and 1 or
2 other routes would be great and
Feel a little like the past when we
Had more domestic routes!

And finally a pakistan operator as
Nationwide the demand is there esp
In our region, but of course the
Aircraft has to be suitable eg B787,
A330 but of course this is currently
The issue.

Jet2 always seem to send their aircraft to UK scrappies
Was just my combined wish for the end of the 733s and a tongue in cheek long haul route. LBA-GBA or LBA-QLA doesn't quite have the same appeal - other than the demise of the 733s of course! 😀

My realistic predictions:

Loganair - NQY, SOU, ABZ, LHR (would prefer BA on LHR).
easyJet - AMS, ALC
Jet2 - SSH, KLX, VCE, LIS
Ryanair - MJV, BGY, MXP
Sun Express - DLM
Turkish/Pegasus - IST (prefer TK)
Blue Island - JER year round.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
