Wishlist and Predictions for 2024

Fly Dubai were recently rumoured to be in LBA's sights using Boeing 737-MAX's.

Well it was interesting to see earlier this week at the Dubai Airshow they went and ordered there first ever wide-bodied aircraft with Boeing for upto 30+ 787-9 Dreamliners.

LBA may have lobbied FDB, but it is very unlikely FDB will engage. Emirates will keep the UK market to themselves and would not dilute their Manchester operation by serving an airport so close by. Expect to see the FDB 787s serving South Asia and the Far East, maybe Russia also.

My understanding is that aircraft rarely use full power on takeoff for reasons of increased engine wear and tear, fuel consumption and noise. Most airlines will attempt to use the most efficient power setting based on, amongst other things, runway length, temperature, altitude, wind speed and payload. Given LBA’s relatively short runway it may be that a fully loaded A321 Neo requires a higher take off power setting than, say, at Manchester and exceeds Jet2’s self-imposed take off power parameters which currently may make Jet2 less inclined to use them at LBA. However, as more and more come into the fleet this could well change. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I think we might have drifted off thread a bit really when Jet2 have their own thread. Obviously we can't wish for too much more in 24 or 25 as we ain't got much space. So if you include the very back end of 23 here is my wishlist:
CLEUD's go in LBA's favour
More away based flying (will take anything) at off peak times
Building to progress without issues so Summer 2026 remains achievable
Stands to be built/created

Here we go, my 2 pence:

CLEUD to go in LBA's favour
Start on the terminal extension

Loganair - NQY, Honestly think its a route that has proven successful from LBA and demand is there.
PLAY - KEF, makes more sense then MAN with x4 operators on the route, they do LPL so would make more sense.
Wizzair - 1/2 more destinations added, to reaffirm operations are doing well.
BA - LHR, the only operator to have on the route.
KLM - X4 Daily for S24.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
