Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
CDG has been announced for next winter. I can see it being x1 Beach and x1 City, it would of made sense to already have CDG on sale all the way through. Maybe AMS and PMI/ALC would be a good shout. no matter what I think AMS is a no brainer from them.

In other news, Loganair have signed a new contract with Swissport for ground handling at LBA.

It coincides with a meeting that Loganair are having down at BA waterside house next week regards Heathrow slots.

Ild be very surprised if LM didn't have a contract before at LBA given the amount of charter flying (not all of which was through Multiflight) and use of LBA as a diversion alternate for MAN and NCL, given you could never rely on MME to be open when you needed it! I'm sure they will have had a contract before - but what is in that contract could, of course, be a completely different thing!

No they didn’t. Hence why all visits have gone to Multiflight

They had a handling contract with Swissport at LBA. Not all visits went to Multiflight as the rugby charters didn’t use or pay extra for the FBO.

Whether the new contract is simply a renewal or something new, who knows. But there was definitely a contract in place.

Well, as I reported after the last Consultative Meeting, the CEO of Loganair was attending a full day event at LBA last month to discuss routes and meet local travel agency representatives, who were to inform him of the demand from LBA, especially LHR and SOU. ABZ was also mentioned and NQY.

The same CEO has been quoted since as stating that the airlines best opportunity for growth is in the North East of England which sounds very much like LBA and/or NCL, given their patchy record at MME.

Now he's meeting BA about slots at LHR, a route specifically mentioned and operated under a code share with BA, and Loganair have signed a ' new' contract with Swissport at LBA. I think that there are perhaps too many happenings here to avoid believing that something is happening between Loganair and LBA. If so, it's not before time. They seem to operate into just about everywhere except here, even airports that clearly do not have anywhere near the demand that LBA will bring.

With all the speculation and excitement today and all the so-called experts saying I know this and I know that nonsense, so far all of the predictions have been wrong, sit down, get a glass of whatever and watch this space. It's not going to be what we wanted but anything is better than nothing.

I just had a peek at some BA through fares using LM from Derry and the prices aren't bad for singles - off peak better than KL out of LBA for HAM which is what I was looking at. The downside is the whole trip is economy and you cant do any kind of upgrade which might deter premium traffic on longer haul. Propellor or jet?

I came on here today expecting big news and what did we get.. Guernsey flights continuing 2 weekly haha
A lot of airports would be crying out for that. Its really good news.

I know an EZY base is rumoured to be S26, but if we was to get one (which I hope they do) Id personally like to see routes like HRG, SSH, NBE and to take some Greek routes on Jet2 have a monopoly on.

Obviously the likes of AMS, CDG, BER thrown in and ALC/PMI/FAO which will be strong sellers.

But these longer routes not available from the region I think they would be onto a winner.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
