Apparently there's tons of room for more aircraft see post #1 by Ray with great detail giving capacity for up to ten narrowbody or a mix with widebodies up to 777 size. All dependent of course of sufficient skilled engineers.

Quite nostalgic in a way even if it's only ten years .

There is the Air Canada A321 and an ASL 738 in their right bay.

The left bay which is currently partitioned off due security will have RAF Wedgetail work till at least 2026.

Brussels A/L A320 OO-SNE arrived early this morning from Brussels for STS, its a night stopper but I don't know how long it will be with them.

Typing it's reg (C-GITU) in the FR24 search box gives the result 'Sorry, but we could not find data for specified flight', indicating that it has not flown. Ian's blog also still lists it as present at BHX.

I have Flightradar gold, it shows a couple things.

The Brussels A/L A320 departed today and the Air Canada A321which has been here since April carried out a test flight so looking like it'll soon be off leaving just the ASL 737 and the three Wedgetails with STS.

It did a check flight today so probably due to fly the nest anytime now, hopefully we will get some new stuff shortly.

Bearing in mind they can get 4 or 5 B737/320s in the bay STS have been very quiet.

Perhaps time of year or have they lost some engineers to STS Manchester ?

Time of year, airlines want planes flying in summer. STS need engineers all over its network as especially licensed guys, not just STS but throughout the industry.

Let's hope we see a sharp increase after summer ends then.
Although I realise the left bay is not available for any new stuff till at least mid 2026 .

I've noted that on the MAN forum that Brussels have sent in a couple of A330s this month to STS so I guess some sort of contract between the two has come into effect. As to what the actual work being done is have no clue but assume it's some planned maintenance as the quieter winter season approaches for airlines but not for maintenance companies.
