I wouldn't read too much into this, it's not unheard of to see 3 class aircraft at quieter times and the first week in Feb is hardly a peak for travel. Given the time of year the loads to DXB have been holding up pretty well.

It's mainly because there's been a shortage of 2 class 777s

They might as well start putting the first class sears on sale at this rate.

They did try 1st class out of BHX ,but it was axed very quickly some years ago.So 1st class is closed off when the 3 class machines come to BHX .

I don’t know how popular that flight was but I would have thought the better option to offer first would have been lunchtime or evening.

First class dining is dine on demand. Usually same choices as business class and with two or three more choices than you get in J. Foods the same other than that.

The F product is really the private suites, pyjamas, better champagne and on the 380 the shower and the F only bar at the front next to the stairs.

Can’t see that. They must be happy enough with loads if they’re upgrading to the A380 in Summer. And this time of year tends to be a quieter time for travel if loads are generally lower currently.

A6-EUO has passed its maintenance test, and should be back in service soon. A6-EUO will be a common A380 to BHX.

However, Glasgow only currently has one flight per day, vs Birmingham's two, and from Summer Glasgow will have one daily three class A380, whilst Birmingham will have a daily two class A380 and a daily two class B777.

Weekly two way seats for Glasgow will go from just over 5,000 to around 7,200, whereas Birmingham will go from almost 12,000 to 14,600.

Even when Glasgow has the A380 and Birmingham has two daily B777, BHX will still have 65% more seats per week.

I know which I'd rather.

The issue with BHX and other smaller airports is the pricing. Birmingham is a lot more expensive compared to LHR / MAN

I am pretty sure BHX would 'price match' what MAN charge when it comes to Emirates.
