I don't want to be a "killjoy" but less than 1000 supporters out of 19 000 views doesn't look good, or is that the norm?

I'm sure many more saw the anti airport petition yet they only achieved around 300 signatures. The point is, most people aren't all that bothered either way. What's in our favour now is the pandemic is having a direct impact on the economy.

So the question is

Do you, or anyone other forum member have any idea's that we haven't used yet on how we can get more people to sign up and share our petition?
If so please feel free to share your idea's with us, I can guarantee we will endeavour to look and consider them all. Remember we have to keep within the Tire 3 rules and social distancing, so sadly going out to gather signatures by hand using Pen, Paper isn't going to happen..

To be frank, the vast majority of people have other things on their mind right now. We are doing all we can. Almost 1000 in 15 days is a lot better than just over 300 in nearly 4 months.
As LBASpotter said, we are all ears, but it's up to everyone to share the link or post on the Facebook groups they are on. There are some where the admins won't allow things like this which doesn't help.
I doubt anyone knows what the average response rate is for these petitions.

Have the folks at Air Yorkshire been contacted? Apologies if this has already been mentioned earlier. Maybe 100-200 members? Not sure

Yes they have posted and shared our petition on the Facebook Page.

Not sure if they have included it in this months Magazine as I'm no longer a member. If anyone is a member that has contact or either receives the magazine/attends the monthly meeting PLEASE ASK them (on our behalf or as a Supporter/Signatory) to sign & share the petition for us.

Again we can't do it all, but I'll have a look on the Air Yorkshire website for contact details send them an email. Also we've have had no reply from either Multiflight or Heailds Aviation as yet through Twitter, so I will try again directly though there email too.

I suspect the likes of Multiflight & Heilds may be reluctant as they don't use the terminal at all and they may well suspect a future increase in landing fees if it goes ahead.
It's a shame we can't get to attend an Air Yorkshire meeting to explain how vital this is but they won't be having them. This is the perfect time NOT to be trying to gather support. Were it not for Covid I can guarantee that had we been able to secure support within the terminal as we did last time, we would have over 20,000 supporting this. LBA couldn't have picked a worse time but they were not to know when they started the process.

I think the general apathy shown towards the application (less than 2000 people registered their objection on the LCC planning portal) can only bolster the application.

I understood it was over 3000, with around 1300 writing in support, which is a higher support ratio than normal for an airport planning application. You would hope that the Council would recognise that the objections are not huge (less than for the 1990s 24 hour ops application) and assume that the rest didn't object. However, what is clear is that whilst the council policy remains to support the airport, the plans panel have a significant green presence who would rather slit their own throats than approve this, even if told they have no valid reasons to reject it.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
