Ryanair

Spare a thought for those people who work in the healthcare profession who have been having to wear full PPE (not just a mask) for up to 12 hours at a time several days in a row. Wearing just a face mask for 6 or so hours at the airport and on a flight is nothing in comparison. Also consider the crew of the flights who will be wearing a face mask plus other PPE for not only the outbound flight but also the return flight, all whilst doing their safety and customer facing duties.

Appreciate everyone's different and fully accept its not comfortable to wear these masks for long periods of time, but if that's the price to pay for having a holiday abroad this year and helping the aviation industry get back on its feet them I'm more than willing to pay it.

Crazy times ahead airforced, currently the dvsa has 4 months worth of tests cancelled across the country that need to be re scheduled, 4 months worth of pupils that want to book tests that cant because the dvsa website is not allowing tests to be booked for another 3 months and when tests do go ahead again im guessing each examiner will only be aloud to do a certain number. The only limited driving tests atm are those for key workers. Most pupils could be waiting over 6 months to take a driving test although it gives them plenty of practicing time, but that's if their theory test does not run out of date! :banghead:
 
Not on sale yet, But I understand that Ryanair are set to reintroduce Leeds/Bradford - Arrecife (Lanzarote) route this winter 2020/21 season. Flights recommence from October 27th operating 1x weekly on Saturday with an LBA based aircraft. A 2nd weekly flight also operates on Tuesdays (Last week October to First week in November & during 3 week xmas-new year festive period)

Sound like the DSA I had many dealings with on various committees before I retired. Good luck and enjoy the Costa Blanca!
 
Nothing particularly interesting fight2win and they all go back to the 90's when I seemed to spend more time at DSA Nottingham than I did in my own office. All to do with HGV training, testing and instructor standards. Very mundane and nothing to do with cars. Some of the same standards are, I believe, still in place today. Back on topic now. Your trip(s) with Ryan to Alicante may, after all, have to take a back seat as I understand the Govt are to release you back on some unsuspecting pupils around 4 July.

Yes it looks like we have the all clear to head back to work on the sat 4th july, although I am aware that there are many driving instructors out there who are currently teaching when they should not be! At present only lessons for key workers that have tests booked can have tuition. Regarding Alicante, im going to work right through to the end of the year then if we do get a second wave of the virus before we go into a full lockdown im going to fly or even drive down there for the winter. whats the point been here, unable to work, cold racking up the heating bill when I can be there when most days in jan,feb its 21c!

Anyone know the position with Ryanair for Summer 2021 bearing in mind GALBA are intimating in their tweet yesterday that perhaps they are dropping LBA. We seem to have heard that before. Is GALBA run by Jet3 by any chance??

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
