So interesting development ...BHX is now on the Primera website offering links to EWR and BOS, but as of yet, no YYZ.... hopefully still updating!

Interestingly, it's not only BHX, London standard and Paris are also offerings both EWR and BOS!!! From $99!!!

Also some more news, flights will be 2 Class - economy and premium economy with all seats being available with USB charging ports and wifi available!

The US airlines are dropping routes in spades across Europe. Their time is up. The gaps are being filled by the Europeans. Great news.
it's the latest evolution in air travel, a lo cost airline entering the TATL market. We're at the start of it, that can only be a good thing, 20 years ago who would have predicted what Easyjet, Ryanair et al would become.

Is Boston aimed primarily at the Irish community in the West and East Midlands? There must be quite a few people who use Aer Lingua via Dublin to Boston.

They are on long haul.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Just because an airline offers low fares doesn't make them a LCC. Although I may get some flak for it, BA is not a low cost carrier, yet their fares can be lower than easyJet or Ryanair.

I, and I'm sure many others would agree, would not put TCX in the same category as Ryanair, Norwegian or easyJet.

They certainly couldn't be viewed as a low cost airline if, as rumored, they introduce a business product.

Not complaining i just know anybody from a MAN forum will be loving a BHX forum promoting the idea of them getting new routes aswell :D

I this think the detention of a low cost carrier has been blurred anyway.

Some people class a low cost based on buying optional extras, some base it on the type of airports they serve, and some, like me, base them on 'lower operating costs' behind the scenes, to which TCX fit into that category.

Anyway, it's all irrelevant I suppose, so, as you were.

Just a thought:

With Thomas Cook, Norwegian, Level and now Primera :

Do easyJet & Ryanair now start to look legacy to investors, given O'Leary's promise a couple of years' back of TATL services?
Even Willie Walsh has beaten O'Leary to it.
Whilst both EZY and FR have been making political noises over Brexit, the new operations have gotten in and, hopefully, cemented a client base.

EZY & FR may have their eyes on expanding the European market further, but if you have links to carriers in the States, you have networks!

If I were CEO of either, I would have a plan or, 5p 50p!!

When it comes to TATL i do think Easyjet and Ryanair have been left behind a bit. It maybe that both airlines have been too cautious in this aspect.

Thinking about it I'm getting less concerned with the name of the airline. I bet if I asked people in the Bullring about the name Hainan the vast majority wouldn't have a clue and I don't think there would be many grumbles if they turned up. Primera is a name that should be marketable (unlike Vueling for instance) and a clever ad campaign will hopefully do the job.

One concern I have is getting the travel agents behind this, their support could be key. We're still hearing stories about locals being directed to other airports to fly on airlines such as Qatar and Emirates, which is clearly unacceptable. I hope that local agents will make the travelling public fully aware of their options rather than lazily directing them down the M40.

I'm sure that much work will be done behind the scenes.

Primera-Low cost Air

Primark-Low cost clothes

Maybe they should rename to Primark Air, LOL

Ah Christmas and Boxing Day Ray, isn't that when three wise men from the East brought important news? Isn't it about time then that we picked up the rumour thread of what from the East might be in the offing for BHX come year-end. More exciting news?

Someone on the dried plum said something along the following lines: "Primera must be very confident in the UK swiftly securing a new Open Skies-type agreement after Brexit"

So, I have questions: have Norwegian dodged any potential Brexit problems by establishing a UK arm, because if so, then surely Primera would be wise to do the same? Would a post-Brexit UK have to establish new bilaterals with the USA? And do we think the government will listen to the airlines and make a new aviation deal a top priority so we won't have any possibility of O'Leary's doomsday prophecies being fulfilled?

I'd imagine that any deal with US would be quick. It would be a disaster for the US airlines let alone the UK if flights stopped. Yes MOL has his doomsday predictions but it would be as just a disaster for the EU. Imagine if KLM couldn't feed off the UK? My personal belief is that aviation wise there will be a deal in place and it suits both sides.
Primera may already have plans in place to get a UK AOC and transfer over to that.

Yes MOL has his doomsday predictions
I think with Ryanair and MOL's doomsday predictions they are concerns but from Ryanair's position they don't want anything to change because they have benefited as a company from the EU and i doubt they would want to pay UK taxes.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
