LJLA celebrates 90 years of operations Tomorrow will be the 90th anniversary of the opening of Liverpool Airport and to celebrate, a number of activities will be taking place across the Airport throughout the day. It was on 1 July 1933 that the Airport was officially opened with Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, the Secretary of State for Air, declaring the Airport officially open at a grand civic ceremony, followed by one of the largest civil air displays seen at the time.
