I don't think leasing their aircraft to Jet2 twice in 3 years is sufficient for them to fall victim to any curse at LBA. Perhaps they need to choose their routes more wisely, and I doubt the P&W engine issues will have helped very much either.

Yes they are with ops carrying on as normal - for now!

There could be some cheap second hand A220s available if Jet2 were genuinely interested

I was in Porto airport today and an Air Baltic landed so definitely still flying.

Currently sat in Barcelona waiting for the EasyJet flight to Leeds that’s picked up a delay.

Applying for "Chapter 11" is to protect the airline from their creditors so that they can re finance, hence they carry on flying.

Don't forget that Air Baltic operate for other airlines - Brussels A/L & Swiss to name but two.

Expert opinion seems to be that airBaltic will survive. Also I didn’t realise but Lufthansa has a 10% stake in them ( the Latvian Government owns the rest). Would be a shame to see them go as they brought a bit of colour and a different aircraft to LBA, albeit on rare occasions.

Yesterday it announced It’s going to ground one Third of its Turkish based fleet due to high fuel prices.
Then this morning it’s just cut 3x UK routes from Antalya to Birmingham, Newcastle & London Gatwick.

I think you’ve answered your own question there. While the crisis in the Middle East continues, it’s unlikely we will see them at LBA. That doesn't mean there is no desire to serve LBA, but more a case of the economic conditions needing to align. To be honest, I think we all hoped for a flurry of new airline and route announcements towards the end of the LBA REGEN work, but as things stand, it isn't looking likely.

Corendon provide capacity for the like of TUI and Love Holidays as well as seat only for independent travellers.
