Will Ryanair temporarily use the T1 departure lounge and piers when they move over to T1 check in/security whilst the refurbishment of the T3 departure lounge/piers takes place?
Thank you so much, that's really informative. I hadn't thought about reconfiguration of existing stands but it makes sense if T1/T3 will only be used by B737 and A320 series :)
Is the plan to remove all 9 airbridges from T3? I guess it makes financial sense as Ryanair won't use them but it does seem a shame to lose all of them. Do you know if there is a plan to put an Airbridge back on T2 legacy Stand 205 (due to be renumbered Stand 305/Gate D5 when the new Pier 2...
Thank you that is really helpful. I had noticed from Google maps that stand 205 no longer has an airbridge. It looks like you can accommodate a maximum of 4 widebodies via airbridge on the 201-208 legacy East pier. When doing so you lose the ability to use stands 207, 205 (airbridge already...
The initial plan was that when the TP was completed that T2 would have three new piers CGI of T2 with 3 piers and connection to former T1 Pier C
The first new pier has obviously been constructed and has a mixture of narrow and widebody gates (T2 A Pier). The second pier (B Pier) was to be...
Not sure if this is helpful but it’s a video taken on day 1 of opening that I found on YouTube. It’s far more comprehensive than the brief official video
Has anyone heard anymore on future uses of the Thomas Cook hangar. I saw it mentioned that there had been a report on another forum of Virgin being interested? I’d personally be surprised as it’s such a large facility, when they have already got Heathrow and Gatwick. I’d say it was at least as...
Interesting to see the latest set of images released by Manchester TP team today. The construction of the bussing lounge seems far more extensive than I imagined. It looks like the construction does include at least 1 new gate with airbridge. The construction that appears under the Manchester...
Excited to see some of the food and beverage offerings in T2X. (These exclude the offerings in the refurbished T2). Delighted to see a number of independent Manchester companies, including Pot Kettle Black that is run by a couple of former Saints rugby league lads and is a great coffee house...
The 777-9 is larger than the A350-900/1000 and in length the 747 so it seems clear that 106, 110 and 112 can all accept an A350 or 747. The question is still which stands can currently accept an A350/747 via an Airbridge. It seems 106 can accept an A350-900 and most likely the A350-1000 but had...
This is my take on the even number stands on the new Pier 1 from OAN updates and posts/images I’ve seen online. The odd number stands on the opposite side of the pier appear to be envisaged as primarily narrow body stands for 737 NG/Max and A320 series
I read on one forum that at least one of the stands I think 106 has shown no issue with the A350. It was 110 I believe that showed the issue apparently “airbridge wouldnt get to the L2 door without hitting the engine and was 2 feet short of the L1 door.”
Stand 110 is on the left of the image...
I just wondered if anyone knew why B pier lost the airbridges that were installed when B pier was refurbished at what I’m sure was no small cost. I know that those stands are frequently used by EasyJet but as an airline they aren’t totally adverse to using airbridge.
I’ve been on Thomas Cook...
I think there are a few logical reasons. Pier 3 will add a number of widebody gates (including an A380 gate) and the Emirates lounge, which facilitates moving over the likes of Emirates, Etihad and possibly Thomas Cook A330’s in 2022. It also allows for the connection of the existing (but...
