I have read the article 3 times now and I still fail to see where it says that IPS would be the first ever direct link between LBA and Pakistan. I may have missed it 3 times but, on the basis of accuracy, maybe you could enlighten me as to where it says that.
Sentinel go back a very long way - I parked with them when I flew from LBA to Ibiza in 1978, however then they were based in a covered warehouse-type building in Horsforth and they transferred you to the airport in a car. I still always use them and they are an excellent local company who offer...
GALBA's website says that the approved 7 mppa figure is a myth, in that the current approval is only to 5 mppa and that to go beyond that is subject to a section 106 agreement and a further planning application. I am confused so who is correct??
Someone connected to GALBA called Ian Coatman has started an online petition on the 38 Degrees website, calling for the planning application to be called in by Robert Jenrick. I also notice that GALBA has it's own very professional website, on which, amongst other things, it goes into detail why...
If and when the new terminal is built, how about the old terminal being retained so it can be reconfigured and refurbished to create a ready-made LBA TERMINAL 2 ?? Let's wind up GALBA and think big!!!!
When a planning application is submitted it has to be determined by the planning authority and a decision made within a set time limit, usually 8 weeks, or 13 weeks for more major proposals, or 16 weeks where an Environmental Impact Assessment is required. This is known as the Statutory Expiry...
Fake news!. The Wharfedale and Airedale Observer is owned by Newsquest Media, whereas the YE Post is owned by JPI Media (formerly Johnston Press). The ownership of a newspaper doesn't necessarily reflect its editorial opinions and whilst the YEP will, quite rightly, report what's going on in the...
An extremely supportive and well-reasoned article regarding the new terminal on the Yorkshire Evening Post website. Sorry, I don't know how to link it but maybe it's time for everyone on here to stop their tiresome and continual criticism of the YEP!
If you read the link to the "Wharfedale Observer" report, posted by LBAYorkie in post 2145, you will see that they report that Dublin flights are retained and available to book for summer 21. These appear to be the only Ryanair flights available from LBA for S21 onwards.
Fake News!! What's the source for this??
There won't be any announcement until Network Rail have completed their review into future investment proposals which won't be before the autumn at the earliest and, in any case, nothing will start in the near future as it is not in the current Network...
For the record, the CBI Director General is Carolyn Fairbairn, not Carolyn McCall. Carolyn Fairbairn (pictured on the LBA Twitter feed) was previously connected with the banking world. Carolyn McCall (ex-Easyjet) is set to become CEO of ITV.
It was reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post today that LBIA made a pre-tax loss of £5.2 million for the year to 31/3/14, down from £8.6 million from the year before. The reduced loss was mainly due to increased passenger numbers and increased revenue from car parking and retail. According to...
